Asus ZenFone 8 to feature hole-punch camera instead of flip camera

In the latest teaser video, Asus showcased yet another animated outline of the front camera, which is likely to come with ZenFone 8. Thus, confirming about existence of punch-hole cutout instead of Flip camera.

It has been long time since we have seen any ZenFone smartphone coming from the house of Asus. As per reports, Asus is currently working on the next generation flagship device. Taiwanese OEM ASUS is gearing up to launch its flagship ZenFone 8 lineup. The device could be the next ZenFone 8. According to reports, this upcoming device will launch globally on May 12. Some previous leaks suggest that the company will be launching multiple devices under ZenFone 8 Series. Some of the device under Asus ZenFone 8 series are likely to come with hole-punch cutout instead of flip camera mechanism. However, it is not confirm if we see multiple device launches on above mentioned ZenFone 8 release date.

Asus ZenFone 8 Series with hole-punch camera:

The Asus ZenFone 8 series will include vanilla ZenFone 8, ZenFone 8 Flip, and ZenFone 8 Mini smartphone. According to recent teaser video posted confirms that the company is planning to bring the upcoming Asus ZenFone 8 with the hole-punch camera rather than flip camera mechanism. In the teaser post, Asus confirms about the device to offer smooth performance. Thus, hinting at the high refresh rate display or presence of a powerful chipset. The teaser video comes embedded with the tweet. This video showcase an animated outline of the front of the upcoming device, which is likely to be the hole-punch cutout. Another report confirms that the upcoming ZenFone 8 Flip model will support the flip camera mechanism.

As per previous posts, all the upcoming devices under ZenFone 8 series will come with at least 120Hz display support. All the smartphone will come with upto 16GB RAM. The latest smartphone under ZenFone 8 series will be power by the Qualcomm’s premium flagship Snapdragon 888 SoC. According to XDA Developers, the three models under ZenFone 8 series comes with the codename “SAKE”, “PICASSO” and “VODKA”. These codenames were found inside the kernel source code and firmware of the Asus ROG Phone 5.

ZenFone 8 series launch in India:

The smartphone manufacturers have launched their ZenFone series smartphones in India till the ZenFone 6 series. Asus did not launch the ZenFone 7 series in the country last year. Recently, the company launched its gaming smartphone series in form of Asus ROG Phone 5 series in India. At this time, we don’t have any official leak or information whether the ZenFone 8 series could land the Indian shores.
