Google Photos on desktop gets integration of Google Lens for web browsers. The OCR technology now comes with Google Lens. It will allow users to copy text from the photos on Google Photos desktop web version. To recall, this Image Recognition technology is already available across the Android platform. This new feature on desktop version is first seen by 9to5Google.
How to access Google Lens?
This new Google Lens with OCR feature works similar to what Image Search does. Here, While opening a text based image, a pop up with “copy text from image” will appear.
– According to report, a Lens logo will appear on the left of share, edit, zoom and other controls in Google Photos.
– Tapping on the Lens logo will show some Google Lens animation of pulsating dots over the image.

Additionally, in the similar way users can select the specific text from the other passage. This can be done by selecting the Deselect Text option from the top right corner. To recall, Earlier, Google has integrated Photos with Google Lens in Android device. This helps in scanning the saved photos and save them directly to the gallery.
Google Lens with OCR: Features
In Android app, this tool can be spot at the bottom of the screen alongside other options including Share, Edit and Delete options. Also, Google Lens with OCR to analyze texts from the picture is one of the most convenient option to scan printed, written text. It will also convert this text into the machine readable format. According to reports, This feature does not work properly with recognizing plants and monuments.
Other Updates in Google Apps:
Meanwhile, Other than, Google Lens with OCR feature, Google recently added multiple new features to its other apps. Google recently added Chat, Rooms tabs to free Gmail personal accounts. Whereas, Workspace feature was earlier made available for Enterprise Workspace account. This feature was roll out to free Gmail accounts on April 4. The tech giant regularly makes design overhaul to it’s Google based apps also. Recently, Google made a major design change to Google Play Store. With this update, Google fixes gesture navigation incompatibilities. They also added new navigation and also made changes in Play Store settings for Android.
