Huawei is likely to launch its new foldable smartphone, the Mate X2 on 22nd February. The company made official announcement on Wednesday. The Mate X2 will succeed its predecessor Huawei Mate X that launch back in 2019. The company said that the Mate X2 would make its debut in China on February 22, in a post on Chinese Social Networking site, Weibo.
Huawei Mate X2 would have a somewhat different style from that of the Mate X and Mate XS. This will be the third foldable smartphone of this group. While the screen on the previous smart phones fold out, the Mate X2 comes with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 like inward folding design. A teaser image of the Mate X2, which shows this concept design was also released on Weibo.
Besides this, as of now, there is no official Mate X2 detail. However, Tipster Digital Chat Station leaked some of the latest specs about the upcoming smartphone on Weibo. The smartphone has been already listed on China’s TENAA certification website with model numbers TET-AN00 and TET-AN10.
Huawei Mate X2: Expected Specifications
The Huawei Mate X2 would feature an 8.01-inch (2480×2200 pixels) inward-folding display. The smaller 6.45-inch secondary display will have a resolution of 2700×1160 pixels. The primary display is likely to come with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device will come with Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 9000 SoC. The smartphone is likely to offer 66W super flash charging backed up by a 4400mAh battery.

The Mate X2 could have a 16-MP front camera as far as the sensor is concerned. However, it is still not confirm whether Huawei decides to place it on the main display or the secondary screen. The rear camera setup will come with a quad-camera combination including a 50-MP main camera. Other camera sensor includes a 16-MP secondary lens, a 12-MP lens, and a fourth 8-MP lens. Additionally, camera features a 10x zoom support.
Keeping in mind, Huawei Mate Xs was launch in February, 2020. It sports a similar design as its predecessor Mate X, but comes with an improved hinge . This device is power by the flagship Kirin 990 5G chipset. Previously, Huawei Mate Xs launched in Global market. But, The Mate X was only available in Chinese markets. As for now, We still have to wait for an official announcement in regards to Mate X2 launch.
