With launch of Mi Band 3 in 2018, Xiaomi launches a new fitness band every year. Later this year, The company is likely to launch it’s fitness tracker called Mi Band 6. The firmware for the Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6 is identified in the Zepp app (formerly Amazfit) which showcase some of the key improvements over the existing Band 5. The Zepp app has been created by Xiaomi-backed Huami. This is the official app for Amazfit and Zepp smartwatch and its fitness band lineup.
The smart band is likely to come in two models – one for China (XMSH16HM, NFC) and one for the global market (XMSH15HM, most likely without NFC). Xiaomi’s Mi Bands are manufacture by Huami. The Zepp app could be a reliable source for the news regarding Band 6. Additionally, The new band comes with built-in GPS receiver which will provide reliable speed and distance data for your workouts.
Band 6: Specifications
According to recent leaks, Mi Band 6 has been codename as “Pangu” and it has the model number XMSH16HM. As per reports, it is likely that the Band will come with support for Alexa and an SpO2 sensor for blood oxygen measurement. Recently, the OnePlus Band is likely to come with support for blood oxygen tracking, will also offers built-in GPS.
The A-GPS data will be provided through the smartphone to the band for faster positioning. According to reports, Band 6 watch face is likely to have a higher resolution than Band 5. There will be addition of 19 new exercise mode. Some of the new exercise modes includes:

The Mi Band 6 offers a 1.1-inch color display. Users can track and access their sleeping data on the band itself (currently, you can only view in the phone app). Thus, it is likely that smart band could come with a larger display. Additionally, There are several leaks that support in favor of high resolution display. A new and fresh look UI will be offered. The Mi Smart Band 6 is likely to come with feature that allows user to monitor smart home devices that use the Mi Home platform. However, this is not clear if this feature will be region-specific. The new band is likely to display emoji based notifications. The smart band will also provide automatic reply feature to decline calls with automatic replies, like “I am currently driving, please contact me later.”
Band 6: Launch
The previous generation Mi Smart Band 5 launched last year around mid-July. However, It is a long time duration for it’s sequel to come. As per recent reports, Xiaomi is likely to launch Smart Band 6 fitness tracker around June. However, Xiaomi has not released any official launch date for the upcoming smart fitness band. Take this post with a pinch of salt as there is more to be reveal in near future.
