The latest series will be launching as the Samsung Galaxy S22 Series. The upcoming Galaxy smartphone series includes the Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra with S Pen. According to rumours, the Ultra variant could launch as the successor to the Samsung Galaxy Note Phone.

The Galaxy S series phones are set to receive 4 years of One UI and OS support, a long-awaited pledge from the South Korean tech giant. Additionally, Samsung has promised 5 years of security updates. Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra: Price and performance

With Samsung’s enhanced software support, the Galaxy S22 Ultra will be the first phone to receive Android 16. The all-new four-year Android support programme is one of the key features of this Galaxy S22 Ultra. Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will be the first device to run on the latest Exynos 2200 chipset.

The South Korean tech giant is offering this Galaxy S22 Ultra in multiple storage options. The base variant gets 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM. This base variant of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra comes with a price tag of EUR 1149. In India, the top-end premium model of Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra comes with a starting price tag of Rs 109999 for the base variant. Here, the base variant of Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra features 12GB RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. The other variant with 12GB RAM and 512GB of storage comes with a price tag of Rs 118999.

Furthermore, the South Korean tech giant also showcased the Ultra variant in 8GB RAM + 128GB Storage and 12GB RAM and 1TB storage variant. These models are yet to debut in India. The all-new Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will come in three colour options, including Burgundy, Phantom Black, and Phantom White. The pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S22 Series will begin on February 23.

The all-new Galaxy S22 Ultra ushers in a new era for the stylus-enabled Galaxy flagship. The latest premium Galaxy phone takes shape, characteristics and overall look from the well-known Galaxy Note phone. This refresh rate can vary between 1 Hz and 120 Hz. Additionally, the Galaxy S22 Ultra gets a peak brightness of 1750 nits. Such excellent displays are synonymous with Samsung. Talking about the cameras, Samsung is carrying forward its last year’s hardware. Just like the last years’ Galaxy S21 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra gets 108-megapixel main camera. This main camera is coupled with 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. The other two lens are 10-megapixel each telephoto and periscope lens.

To recall, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is the first Samsung phone after the Galaxy Note 20 which not only incorporate S-Pen support. The likes of Galaxy S21 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 3 also comes with S-Pen support. Although, these phone skips on the physical slot for S-Pen. The latest Galaxy Ultra device includes a physical slot for stowing the stylus.

Users who brought last year’s Galaxy S21 Ultra had to buy the S-Pen separately. Furthermore, they also need to purchase a specific phone case to store this S-Pen along with the Galaxy phone. Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra comes with other iterative upgrades. These include an upgraded processor and an improved camera and screen.

Galaxy S22 Ultra: Replacement to Note Series

During the launch event, the South Korean tech giant declined to comment on any future products when asked about the new Galaxy Note series. To fill the empty space in Note lineup, the company brings the latest Galaxy S22 Ultra. To recall, the Galaxy Note series was launched more than a decade ago. Along with S Pen support, the best part about the Galaxy S22 Ultra is a spot to store this S-Pen. Beside this, Samsung has also made some improvements to the way this stylus works. There is improvement in latency. Now, the Samsung S Pen can transcribe handwritten notes to text in about 88 languages.

As far as design is concerned, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra inherits a streamlined design like the Galaxy Note lineup. Just like the Samsung Note device, the Galaxy S22 gets sharper edges and more of an angular look. The design is totally different from other Galaxy S22 series devices. The Galaxy S22 Ultra comes with more of an “Note-like” design. Galaxy Note fans are already familiar with this design.

This unique design helps the Galaxy S22 Ultra to stand out from the regular Galaxy S22 and the S22 Plus. The all-new Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra comes in four colour options. This time also the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra display measures 6.8- inches diagonally. Just like the Galaxy S21 Ultra, the latest Galaxy S22 Ultra comes with QHD Plus resolution. Furthermore, just like the other two phones, the Galaxy S22 Ultra can also boost its screens’ refresh rate to 120 Hz for smoother scrolling.

This year, the South Korean tech giant is also adding a feature with the name of Vision Booster. This feature will adjust the colours and contrast based on the environment. Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra camera is similar to the one available on the Galaxy S21 Ultra. The latest Galaxy phone gets the quad rear camera setup with a 108-megapixel main camera sensor. The 12-megapixel secondary lens is an ultra-wide camera. The other two sensors are 10-megapixel each telephoto lens.

During the launch event, Samsung confirms that the field-of-view on wide and telephoto lenses is slightly wider on the Galaxy S22 Ultra as compared to its predecessor. The South Korean tech giant further adds that other upgrades will make the device better for night shooting. It will also help in framing multiple subjects.
