Xiaomi’s 2021 Mi 11 to cost high?

The 2021 Xiaomi Mi 11 could fall in price bracket of Samsung S21 series and Apple iPhone 12 series in global markets.

Xiaomi makes some mind boggling phones in different price brackets. The flagship Mi 11 for 2021 is no different. It has the powerful Snapdragon 888 chipset, a new design, a spectacular high-grade display and a set of excellent camera. In China, Mi 11 costs almost Rs 45,000, which is unbelievably low price for a new 2021 premium phone. However, the global variant of Mi 11 is likely to cost  high price for global markets.

The global pricing for the upcoming Mi 11 has been leaked through a report from Mobile91. As per reports, The base variant of Mi 11 is likely to be price around EUR 799 which is approximately Rs 70,000. Whereas, The top-end variant of Mi 11 may cost much higher than anticipated. For the top-end variant, the company is demanding EUR 899 which is approximately Rs 78,500. If these prices are real, Xiaomi appears to be adamant about gaining a premium Mi brand image.

The European Pricing is definitely higher than the Chinese prices of Mi 11. In China, the base model starts RMB 3,999 which is approximately Rs 45,000 and go up to RMB 4,699 which is approximately Rs 52,900 for the 12GB+256GB variant. The reports also claims that the global model will not come with 12GB RAM.

Mi 11 to be as costly as iPhone 12

Xiaomi is demanding a lot high price for this premium segment smartphone. However,  the device is yet to land in India, though reviewers have lauded Mi 11 for its premium experience. With the Mi 11 in China will reach a much lower price level and it seems unusual for Xiaomi to call for the nearly double price on global markets. The news could be false, as these are early leaks.

Xiaomi could shock the Mi community by launching the smartphone with similar Chinese prices. In the past, though, Xiaomi has shown that global costs will rise, citing production and shipping as reasons for price inflation. Also Read: Redmi K40 series to launch with three models

In Global market, The base variant of Mi 11 will have 128GB onboard while the top-end variant will come with 256GB storage. Xiaomi utilize same strategy last year for the flagship Mi 10 series. Furthermore, the Mi 10 Pro never made out of China with superior cameras.

Xiaomi will announce the Mi 11 on February 8 globally and we’re going to have to wait for the pricing till then.

Mi 11: Specifications

The Mi 11 Global specifications are likely to be similar to the Chinese variant. The Chinese variant comes with a 6.81-inch AMOLED display with a QHD+ resolution. The device is likely to come with a punch hole cutout. The display supports a 120Hz refresh rate. The display could offer a peak brightness of upto 1500 nits. The smartphone also comes out with a support of HDR10+.

The handset runs on flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset paired with up 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The handset comes with latest Android 11-based MIUI 12.5.

Mi 11 comes with a triple-rear camera setup. The rear camera includes a 108MP primary sensor, a 13MP wide-angle lens, a 5MP telephoto-macro camera. For selfies and video chat, The device comes with a 20MP front-facing camera.
