According to reports, WhatsApp has started receiving a new app update to enable the multi-device functionality. With the new update, WhatsApp will now allow non-beta testers to join and sync with the multi-device beta program. By joining this beta program, users can also receive upcoming features upcoming updates on WhatsApp. This report is confirmed by WABetaInfo. The report from WABetaInfo also confirms that with this new functionality, the users will be able to connect their WhatsApp on up to four devices apart from the primary device. Keep in mind, beside primary device, the other four device must be a non-phone device to access this functionality.

WABetaInfo is a WhatsApp feature tracker, tracks and also reports about the new features which comes on WhatsApp. Recently WABetaInfo spotted a new WhatsApp feature. The 2.21.19.9 update for WhatsApp comes with multi-device functionality. The 2.21.19.9 update also brings stable version of instant messaging app on Android and iOS along with multi-device functionality. “For a future update, users will also be forced to update to the multi-device version,” according to the Facebook-owned chat app.

To recall, the instant messaging app, WhatsApp announced about the multi-device support in the month of July. Moreover, users will be able to enjoy a standalone multi-device experience without having to connect their primary smartphone to the Internet thanks to the new functionality. Furthermore, that smartphone could be turned off, but users could still continue use WhatsApp on their linked non-phone devices.
This feature might also be useful if the user’s primary smartphone’s Internet connection is unreliable and not good. Whereas, on the other hand, their non-phone devices, such as laptops, desktops, or Wi-Fi-only tablets, have a solid Internet connection.
