The vision of Digital India is to achieve inclusive growth in areas of electronic services, products, manufacturing, and job opportunities. Meanwhile, it is centered on three key areas:

  • Digital infrastructure as a utility to every citizen. This includes building high-speed internet networks in rural areas and providing access to digital devices and services.
  • Governance and services on demand. This includes making government services available online and providing citizens with the ability to access these services from anywhere.
  • Digital empowerment of citizens. This includes promoting digital literacy and skills development so that citizens can use digital technologies to improve their lives.

The Digital India plan also includes the implementation of the Netcare System program, which aims to expand access to the internet in rural areas.
