Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro earbuds in India
Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is a well-known feature in Truly Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbuds, and brands are constantly striving to improve the performance and features of earphones priced under Rs 5000. Realme and OnePlus have recently launched their own TWS earbuds, which will compete against the Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro in this segment.
While different brands offer decent sound quality and excellent Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) features in their earbuds, it should be noted that these features are also available in budget segment earbuds. However, the level of sound quality and ANC performance may not be up to the mark. With that said, let’s take a look at the Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro, the latest addition to the truly wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds lineup from Oppo.

The Pro earbuds come with significant differences, including a proper in-canal fit and active noise cancellation (ANC). The newer Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro comes in two colors – White and Grey. The White version looks nicer and much more similar to the Apple AirPods Pro.

Charging Case
Moreover, for charging the case, the Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro gets a USB Type-C port for charging on the charging case. Oppo claims that with active game mode, the latency transmission can reach as low as 94ms. Now, let’s talk about the performance of these Enco Air2 Pro, but before that let’s first unbox the device.
Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro: Unboxing
The all-new Enco Air 2 Pro comes inside a standard White color themed box like any other branded earbuds. Meanwhile, the packaging is decent and straightforward, and the Oppo Enco branding is present on the top of the box vertically. Furthermore, the Air2 Pro branding is mentioned in the bottom right corner in small font.
We get the price details, manufacturing details, and box contents at the back of the box. After opening the box package, we get the Air2 Pro earbuds on the top inside the charging case. We also get a user guide and a USB Type-C cable for charging the earbuds and charging case. The company is also offering an extra pair of ear tips.
Oppo Enco earbuds: Design
Both earbuds and charging case comes with a decent glossy plastic build. The Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro comes with an in-canal fit with Silicone ear tips in terms of significant design changes. Also, the Pro earbuds come with a more substantial charging case. The earpieces’ ‘L’ and ‘R’ insignia are carved out to provide apertures for the internal microphones, which is a unique touch.
Along with the differences, there are some similarities as well. Both the Enco Air 2 series models come with stem-style earpiece designs, and this earpiece also gets touch zones for playback controls. The Oppo Enco Air2 Pro touch controls work well with this design. Furthermore, both the TWS earbuds come with a glossy finish on the plastic, and Enco Air 2 Pro comes with an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.
Oppo Enco earbuds: Touch Gestures
You can use the touch gestures to control playback and engage your smartphone’s default voice assistant. These touch gestures can also cycle through noise cancellation. We can also activate the game mode and adjust the volume. This adaptability allowed me to control my listening experience without constantly reaching for my smartphone.

The Active Noise Cancellation performance on the Oppo Enco earbuds was pretty decent. If not the best overall, the performance is one of the best in this price range. The ANC feature makes it easier for us to listen indoors and outdoors.
These earbuds successfully reduced background noise such as humming, ceiling fan noise, and air conditioner noise. Along with passive noise isolation, the Oppo earbuds can drown out most of the ambient sounds from outdoors at home or in an office.
Oppo Enco earbuds: Connectivity
These Enco Air 2 offers good connectivity during calls and while listening to music. We had no trouble with either of the earpiece during calls. At a distance of up to 4 meters between the headphones and the source device, the connection remained solid and lag-free. The active Game mode made a slight difference in improving the latency while playing mobile games.
Oppo Enco earbuds: Battery
Considering the price point, the battery life on the Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro isn’t that good. The earpiece can run for around three hours with ANC enabled based on our usage. We used the charging case three times to charge the Enco Air2 Pro from zero to 100 percent. Compared with the OnePlus Buds Z2, the battery backup is low and the Oppo Enco Buds charging time is more.
Oppo Enco earbuds: Sound Quality
The latest Enco Air 2 Pro can deliver good sound quality. Based on our experience, the earphones offer strong and attacking sound. While listening to the music, the audio details and pace are decently maintained. The vocals and highs are decent without being overwhelmed. Also Read – Oppo Find X3 series in Global markets
In our experience, the audio track sounded pleasant. We enjoyed listening to the music even at the 50 percent volume levels. At 70 percent volume, the Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro sounds the best. While, at 80 percent volume levels, the music sound shrills and is a bit too attacking, and it could be an issue while listening to the music outdoors. Overall, we are happy with the clear and crisp sound.
Enco Air 2 Pro works with the Hey Melody app
The latest Oppo TWS earbuds work well with the Hey Melody app. The touch controls on the Enco Air 2 Pro earbuds can be customized using this Hey Melody app. FYI, the Hey Melody app is available for Android and iOS. This app also shows battery levels for both earpieces and the charging case. Also Read – Realme affordable earbuds with ANC
Furthermore, the app will also allow users to enable or disable ANC and transparency modes. We can also activate the game mode with the Hey Melody app. It also allows you to adjust between three equalizer settings (named Enco Live sound effects) and update the firmware of the earbuds. This app is nicely designed, easy to use, and works relatively well with the Enco Air 2 Pro.
Final Verdict
Oppo’s audio product line in India has traditionally provided outstanding value for money. In contrast, some of the company’s most recent introductions, such as the Enco Air 2, have been pretty ordinary overall. The Chinese tech players return to form with the launch of Enco Air 2 Pro. For the price, this is a decent pair of truly wireless earphones with handy features like active noise cancellation and app support.
Above all, the sound quality on the Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro is excellent, and when paired with good ANC, this is one of the most satisfactory TWS headsets at around Rs. 5,000. The only significant disadvantage is the average battery life, which keeps it from being an excellent all-rounder. Also Read – Hey Alexa! Find me the nearest COVID vaccination center near me
