Vivo is the most trending smartphone brand in India. The Chinese smartphone makers has officially launched its latest 5G smartphone in India. After multiple teasers and reveals, the Vivo Y-series 5G smartphone has finally gone official in India earlier this month. The mobile phone company has added a new member to its Y-series lineup in India, dubbed the Vivo Y400 5G. Positioned in the mid-range segment, Vivo claims this smartphone to offer a balance of durability, performance, and style.

Vivo Y400 5G in India is the company’s latest smartphone to launch with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset. The 5G smartphone comes packed with a large 6,000mAh battery. The Vivo Y400 5G mobile comes with two variants in India. Vivo Y400 5G price in India starts at Rs. 21,999. The base variant with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage retails for Rs. 21,999 in India. While, the other variant with 8GB RAM + 256GB storage costs Rs. 23,999. This Vivo Y-series smartphone is available in two colour options: Glam White and Olive Green.

Regarding its availability, the Vivo Y400 5G smartphone is available via the Vivo India e-store, Flipkart, Amazon and select offline retail stores. Vivo Y400 5G display is surrounded by even and minimal black bezels on the sides and top. However, the bottom chin is thicker. For biometric authentication, the phone has a fingerprint sensor built into the screen. The P3 wide color gamut and E4 light-emitting material for vivid images are further defining features.

Design

As for the dimensions, the display on the Y400 5G is encased within a 7.90mm body and weighs at 197 grams. At the back, there is a top-left aligned pill shaped camera module. The camera unit is home to a dual camera setup and an Aura Light module. Furthermore, there is a USB Type-C port at the bottom along with a speaker grille.

The secondary mic sits on the top edge. While, the earpiece rests inside the display along with the top edge. The volume rockers and the power button sits on the left edge of the display. Under the hood, the Y400 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 Mobile Platform. This 4nm octa-core chipset pairs with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 onboard storage. The handset also supports an additional 8GB extended RAM. There is no room for storage expansion, as Vivo Y400 5G is a dual SIM (Nano + Nano) handset. The phone runs on Android 15-based Funtouch OS 15 out of the box.

Battery

For optics, the Vivo Y400 5G comes with a dual rear camera setup. The dual camera setup at the back is home to a 50 MP main Sony IMX852 sensor with support for OIS and autofocus. The secondary camera is a 2 MP depth sensor. The centre punch-hole front camera is a 32 MP selfie shooter with an f/2.45 aperture.

The phone also offers an underwater photography mode. This mode uses the physical buttons instead of the touchscreen.
