Google Chrome is one of the most accessed browser on mobiles these days. Google Chrome is bringing a new update for Android devices. This update will now allow users to preview a page before even opening the link. With this update, a pop up will appear with the Preview Page option in Google Chrome. How Preview Page Option works?
This change was first spotted by “9To5Google” on Google Chrome on an Android device. This option is said to appear in between “Open in Incognito Tab” and “Copy Link Address“. Meanwhile, once the user select this “Page Preview” option then a preview of the web page will open and this preview will take up the majority of screen. Here, at the top exists the site icon, domain name, and page name. However, the user will not be able to expand it further. Additionally, a dedicated button is given within the preview window to open the page in new tab. After checking the preview, user can close it by tapping on the “x” icon at the top right corner.
To recall, Google was working on this update from past two years. Now, this update has been release on March 10th. According to reports, this update will come to all the Google Chrome 89 for Android devices in coming days. This update can be access by updating your Google Chrome via Google Play Store. This feature is also available via a server-side update. This option will be helpful for the users, as this feature will allow users to scan pages. Also, it will save them from opening multiple tabs while checking some content.
Google Chrome for Android: Other features
To recall, Google earlier release it’s Chrome 89 version for Android devices. This latest update will bring revamped Chrome profiles, improved memory management. Additionally, a new feature of “freeze-dried tabs” is likely to improve the speed of Chrome startup by 13%. Additionally, this new update for Chrome on Android is likely to reduce crashes and improve the browsing performance by upto 22%. According to previous reports, Google Chrome 89 is likely to get “Privacy Sandbox” feature. This is a secure environment for personalization which protects user privacy. Meanwhile, Google has also confirm that the 64-bit Google Chrome for Android is likely to arrive on devices running Android 10 OS with 8GB RAM.
