With its rough and tough design, the Samsung XCover 5 has been manufacture “for the fields and factory” to overcome the demand of mobile workforce. These new rugged smartphones will feature a 5.3-inch HD+ TFT display. These rugged phones will be powered by an octa-core Exynos 850 processor with a clock speed of 2GHz. Additionally, This chipset will pair up with 4GB RAM/ 64GB of onboard storage. The phone is likely to come with Android 11 OS out of the box. Also, the device runs on 3,000mAh battery along with a support of 15W of charging. However, the device comes with standard USB port and Poco pins.
For cameras, These new rugged smartphones will support a single 16-MP rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture. For selfies, the handset comes with 5-MP shooter along with an f/2.2 aperture. Additionally, the smartphone also supports Samsung Knox which allows enterprise-grade scanning. Other features may also include XCover Key, integration of walkie-talkie function in Microsoft Teams etc. This XCover Key provides a customized features that allows single-touch access to the most frequently used app.
These new rugged smartphones will also support IP68 rated water and dust resistance. The Korean smartphone makers also claims that the smartphone’s display will support touch sensitivity even while wearing gloves. Additionally, the smartphone will include all the important sensors including Geomagnetic, Light, Gyroscope, and Proximity Sensor etc. The handset will also support NFC out of the box. Galaxy XCover 5: Price
The new rugged smartphones coming from Samsung are price under premium budget category. The pricing for these upcoming smartphones start at GBP 330 which is approximately Rs 33500. Keep in mind, these are the starting price for base variant which comes with 4GB of RAM. These new rugged smartphones are likely to launch in select markets of Asia, Europe, and Latin American countries. However, the official launch date is not announce yet. According to reports, the wider rollout of these device will take place in H2 of this year.
