Oppo Reno 6 series launches with iPhone 12 like design, 5G connectivity and much more

The Chinese brand Oppo launches its premium Reno 6 series in China with a new design, features and much more. The Reno 6 series features three models at different price points.

This year Oppo is launching its new phones much faster than earlier. To recall, the Oppo Reno 5 series was launched in January this year. This Reno 5 series was expected to meant for the whole year. But, Oppo has some other plans for Chinese market. The Chinese smartphone makers launched its Reno 6 series in China. The all new Reno 6 series compromises of three models including the Reno 6 5G, the Reno Pro 5G, and the Reno 6 Pro+ 5G. All the latest phone models comes with different price and specifications. The Chinese brand aims to take on the mid range smartphone market with all new Oppo Reno 6 series.

According to reports, the vanilla variant of Oppo Reno 6 comes with iPhone 12 like design theme. The 5G phone gets flat edges and a flat display just like the current gen iPhone 12 models. All the models in Oppo Reno 6 series runs on MediaTek Dimensity power processors. On the other hand, the display on all the models are limited to 90Hz AMOLED panels. The company is yet to announce any details on the global availability of these Reno 6 series models.

Oppo Reno 6:

The all new Reno 6 is the standard vanilla variant in the Reno 6 series. Oppo Reno 6 price starts at CNY 2799 which is approximately Rs 32000 for the base variant of 8GB RAM/ 128GB of native storage. Whereas, the 12GB RAM/ 256GB of storage variant sells at CNY 3199. Currently, the smartphone is available for sale in Chinese smartphone market only.

Meanwhile, The Oppo Reno 6 phone is power by MediaTek Dimensity 900 chip. The device features a flat 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display along with 90Hz refresh rate. As for the camera configuration, the device features a 64-MP triple rear camera system. The 64-MP main camera comes in pair with an 8-MP ultra wide angle lens and a 2-MP macro camera. For selfies, the display houses a 32-MP selfie shooter. Additionally, The smartphone packs in a 4300mAh battery along with 65W fast charging support. Also, The Reno 6 runs on company’s own custom ColorOS 11.3 which is based on Android 11 OS out of the box.

Reno 6 Pro and Reno 6 Pro+:

The Pro models in the Oppo Reno 6 series comes with a curved edge display system. Both the Pro models feature a 6.5-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display along with 90Hz refresh rate. The Pro series smartphone packs in a 4500mAh capacity batteries along with 65W fast charge solution. Additionally, These device runs on ColorOS 11.3 which is based on Android 11 OS out of the box.

The main difference comes in camera and chipset department for both the Pro models. The Oppo Reno 6 Pro is power by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. Whereas, the Oppo Reno 6 Pro+ relies on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chip. This time the Reno 6 series skip on the premium Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset. For the camera configuration, the all new Oppo Reno 6 Pro features a 64-MP quad rear camera system. The 64-MP primary sensor is followed by an 8-MP ultra wide camera along with two 2-MP sensor where one is macro lens and other features a depth camera. On the other hand, the Reno 6 Pro+ gets a better 50-MP Sony IMX766 sensor. The 50-MP main camera sensor is accompanied by a 16-MP ultra wide camera, a 13-MP telephoto lens and a 2-MP depth sensor.

As for the pricing, the Oppo Reno 6 Pro price starts at CNY 3499 which is approximately Rs 40000. Both the Reno 6 Pro and Reno 6 Pro+ features two variants of 8GB RAM/ 128GB of storage and 12GB RAM/ 256GB of storage. The Reno 6 Pro+ price starts at CNY 3999 which is approximately Rs 45500.
