MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition and MIUI for Pad unveiled: What’s new?

Xiaomi has rolled out an all-new MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition and the MIUI for Pad. These custom skins come with many new features and customizations.

At the Mi MIX 4 launch event, Xiaomi has unveiled its all-new MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition and MIUI for Pad. Both of these new operating system skin brings lot many new features and customizations. Let’s check out both of them one by one.



MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition:

The all-new MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition is a polished version of current gen MIUI 12.5. The Enhanced version brings lot many improvements to the skin. Xiaomi claims that with the launch of MIUI Enhanced Edition. More than 160 system header problems and 224 system application problems have been resolved. Besides these fixes, Xiaomi claims that it has introduced an all-round optimization for complete framework.

MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition: Optimizations

The latest MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition brings limited new features. Moreover, it brings four optimizations namely Liquid Storage, Atomic Memory, Focus Calculation and Intelligent Balance. Let’s discuss these in details.

  • Liquid Storage:

The Liquid Storage is a solution which will help the device to optimize the storage mechanism. At the same time, it will also help in maintaining the read and write performance for a long time period.

  • Atomic Memory:

In MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition, the Atomic Memory is the solution for optimising the memory management mechanism. It helps to improve the performance of holding applications in the memory.



  • Focus Calculation:

  • Intelligent Balance:

The Intelligent Balance is a solution to intelligently allocate hardware performance. It will also allocate the power consumption and will find the balance between them.

MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition: Eligible Device

Xiaomi has announced the list of various Mi, and Redmi mobile phones that are eligible for MIUI Enhanced Edition update. The Chinese brand has also confirmed that the first batch of devices has already started receiving the update from August 13. The Chinese smartphone makers will release the official plan for all the eligible devices soon on the Mi Community Forum Page. Meanwhile, the list of Mi phones includes,

Mi MIX 4, Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11 Pro, Mi 11, Mi 10 Ultra, Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10S, Mi 10 and others.

The Redmi device includes Redmi K40, Redmi K40 Pro, Redmi K30S Ultra, Redmi K30 Pro.

MIUI For Pad:

Besides MIUI Enhanced Edition, Xiaomi also launched the MIUI for Pad. This is the first ever operating systm which is specifically designed for tablets. MIUI for Pad is basically a redesigned version of MIUI 12.5 for tablets. Xiaomi claims that this operating system comes with full-screen app experience along with split-screen mode.




Xiaomi also claims that more than 300 mainstream apps are well-optimized for the MIUI for Pad alongside MIUI 12.5. Additionally, the Chinese brand has target for 2000 apps to get optimized for this MIUI skin. The company has requested its developers to join the Xiaomi Open Platform. Xiaomi want them to help in improving the state of Android Tablet app ecosystem. Additionally, Xiaomi is also teasing for the Mi Security app for tablets. However, the Chinese brand has not revealed anything yet for the same.
