Huawei P50 Pocket foldable mobile phone officially launched in the homeland of China. This foldable phone is the first folding smartphone with clamshell design from the tech giant. To recall, we have already seen something similar on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3. Although, this is not the company’s first ever foldable smartphone. The Mate X Series includes the Huawei Mate X, Mate Xs, and the Mate X2 foldable mobile phone. All of these Mate X series mobile phones have one thing in common i.e. Their Display. Now, the Chinese smartphone brand has launched the Huawei P50 Pocket foldable smartphone.

The all-new Huawei P50 Pocket comes with a multi-dimensional hinge. This is designed to unfold the display without any signs of creasing. This Huawei mobile phone sports a 6.9-inch primary OLED display. This display gets a 120Hz refresh rate along with 300Hz touch sampling rate. Huawei P50 Pocket: Design
As for the key feature, the Huawei P50 Pocket folding mobile gets a bigger battery, a bigger primary display. Moreover, it also gets a circular primary display which is absent on the Galaxy Z Flip 3. Outer circular display:
During the launch event, Huawei also demonstrated the phone’s circular display through a video. This circular display can perform almost every single task. It can get directions from navigation apps, control music player, view messages, click selfie using front camera and much more. This display even get access to dedicated widgets for both first- and third-party apps.
Huawei P50 Pocket foldable Mobile: Specifications
Huawei’s foldable mobile phone runs on Harmony OS out of the box. This Huawei folding mobile phone is a 4G Android phone. The all-new Huawei P50 Pocket features dual screen. Here, the primary main screen is a 6.9-inch OLED display with a screen resolution of 2790×1188 pixels. Whereas, the secondary outer screen is a 1-inch OLED display with a screen resolution of 340×340 pixels. Moreover, the primary display gets 120Hz refresh rate. The secondary outer display gets 60Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, Huawei P50 Pocket foldable mobile phone packs in last year’s flagship Snapdragon 888 4G SoC. This chipset comes in pair with an Adreno 660 GPU. Moreover, the complete hardware is backed by a battery with a capacity of 4000mAh. The latest Huawei 4G Android phone also gets 40W Super Charge fast charging support. The smartphone is available in two storage variants. This includes a base variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. The other variant gets 12GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage.
For the optics, the Huawei’s foldable phone sports triple rear camera setup. Here, the phone features a 40-megapixel primary camera sensor accompanied by a 32-megapixel ultra-spectrum sensor and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor. Huawei claims that the triple rear camera setup on P50 Pocket mobile is capable of recording videos in 4K resolution. For selfies and video chats, the Huawei P50 Pocket also supports a 10.7-megapixel centrally placed hole-punch selfie shooter.
Huawei P50 Folding Mobile: Price and availability
The Chinese smartphone brand, Huawei is offering this latest P50 Pocket mobile in two colour options. This includes Crystal White and Obsidian Black colour. Furthermore, Huawei joins hands with haute couture designer Iris Van Herpen to bring a special edition smartphone. This variant comes with the name of Huawei P50 Pocket Premium Edition. This Premium Edition folding mobile phone sports a gold finish with flowing patterns.
As for the price details, Huawei P50 Pocket foldable mobile price starts at CNY 8988 which is approximately Rs 106000. This price is for the base variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. Moreover, the premium 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage variant comes with a price tag of CNY 10988. This is approximately Rs 130000. Moreover, Huawei have not revealed any details regarding the international pricing and availability. However, the smartphone is already available for purchase in China.
