OnePlus Nord 2 goes official as the original Nord’s successor in India

OnePlus Nord 2 officially launches as the third Nord phone from the company in India. The device falls in the upper mid-range price segment.

After multiple leaks and rumours from all around the world, OnePlus Nord 2 finally launches in India. The launch event takes place all-virtual in a theatrical mode. The launch takes place in a theatrical mode because the company came up with a movie, which represents this OnePlus device as a hero. The all-new mobile phone will succeed the original Nord phone. To recall, the Original Nord was launched last year in India. The Nord 2 comes under sub-Rs 30000 price bracket. The latest smartphone gets intriguing spec sheet along with an all-new design. OnePlus also launch the Buds Pro earbuds along with this Nord 2 smartphone. Let’s check out complete details about the OnePlus mobile phone.

OnePlus Nord 2 Design:

The OnePlus Nord 2 carry forward its design from the OnePlus Nord 9 phone. Just like OnePlus 9, the Nord 2 phone comes with big rear camera housing. It skips the pill-shaped camera module as seen on its predecessor. On the front screen, the OnePlus Nord 2 display gets a punch-hole cut out for front camera. Regarding specifications, the new OnePlus device comes with a 6.43-inch rated display. The screen features an AMOLED panel which comes with a Full HD+ screen resolution.

The display also gets a 90Hz screen refresh rate to make it function more smoothly for the users. Under the hood, the device gets a MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI chipset. The same MediaTek chipset is already seen on the Oppo Reno 6 Pro 5G and the Realme X7 Max 5G. According to OnePlus, this chipset can deliver enhanced AI functionalities in the display, camera and gaming. Just like previous Nord phones, the Nord 2 phone also comes in three RAM/ Storage options. These includes a 6GB/ 128GB model, an 8GB/ 128GB model, and a 12GB/ 256GB model.


For camera configuration, the OnePlus Nord 2 phone comes with a 50-megapixel main camera along with a Sony IMX766 sensor. This camera sensor also gets support for OIS. The secondary 8-megapixel camera comes with EIS support. The third lens a 2-megapixel mono lens. For selfies, the device also gets a 32-megapixel front shooter.

Beside camera configuration, the device also gets a number of other camera features such as multi autofocus (PDAF, CAF), 4K videos, Nightscape Ultra mode, AI enhancements, Portrait mode, Night Portrait mode, Dual-View Video, and much more.

Moreover, the device is backed by a 4500mAh battery along with 65W fast charge support. OnePlus claims that this battery can charge from 0 to 100 per cent in just 30 minutes with the proprietary charger. The latest Nord phone also runs on Oxygen OS 11.3 on top on ColorOS which is based on Android 11 operating system out of the box. The OnePlus phone comes with two years of major software upgrades and three years of security updates.

Additional features also include dual stereo speakers, Haptics 2.0, NFC, Bluetooth v5.2 and much more. For security, the device gets in-display fingerprint scanner along with Face Unlock. The OnePlus Nord 2 5G price in India starts at Rs 27999 for the base model with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage model comes for Rs 29999. Additionally, the top model of Nord 2 with 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage comes with a price tag of Rs 34999. The early access sale goes live on July 27. Whereas, the open sale will begin on July 28. The OnePlus Nord 2 phone will be up for grab via company’s official website, Amazon India and other leading retail stores.
