Apple officially released the latest macOS 12 operating system at day 1 of Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2021. The latest operating system is dubbed as Monterey. 1. Continuity
Continuity will allow all the Apple devices to share data with each other. This means that this feature will provide universal control to all Apple users on macOS. For instance, With Continuity, users can use their MacBook’s keyboard and trackpad to control the Mac and iPad.
Additionally, Macs will also get the ability to become an AirPlay target. It means that the users can get the ability to use Mac display as streaming device. 2. Shortcuts
The latest update of Apple macOS will bring the support for Shortcuts app. Here, Automater will still be the supported. However, the tech giant states that with multi-year transition, Shortcuts will soon replace the Automator completely. This latest app will allow users to setup shortcuts to anything or everything they want to do on their Macs. 3. Safari Redesign
In this latest macOS update, Apple has redesigned the Safari. The Apple based browser gets a fresh new look. It now features a new start page. The tabs are more compact. Additionally, there is a new tab group and much more. In this new update, the company has combined the tab bar and the URL bar in one.
The Tab groups are present on the left sidebar menu which is arrange in a horizontal orientation. Users will now also be allowed to share an extra tab group in an email automatically. Additionally, it will become easier for the users to sync their tab group directly with their iPads and iPhones automatically. On iPhone and iPad, the tab bar will be located at the bottom. To recall, every year Apple announces the latest version of Apple macOS operating system both for PCs and laptops. This year also, the company announced the macOS Monterey. Currently, the latest operating system is in the beta testing. According to company’s official, it will roll out in this fall along side other software. Apple macOS Monterey release timeline
Initially, Apple has rolled out the developer beta version of the macOS Monterey. The company is also likely to release the public beta version in the next month. At the launch event, company did not state the official release date for the latest macOS operating system.

The list includes all the iMac (late 2015 and later), all the iMac Pro (2017 and later). It also includes all the Mac Pro (late 2013 and later), Mac Mini (late 2014 and later). All the MacBook variants will also be upgraded to Apple macOS Monterey including MacBook Pro (early 2015 and later), MacBook Air (early 2015 and later), and MacBook (early 2016 and later).
