Can OnePlus remove its curse of bad camera with OnePlus 9 Pro?

The latest OnePlus 9 series is planned to launch shortly, supposed to include the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro, along with a potential addition of the OnePlus 9E.

OnePlus will soon launch its OnePlus 9 series with improve camera quality, for which the Chinese company repeatedly makes headlines. The OnePlus 9 series will launch in the coming months. Tons of leaks and speculations suggests that the company is expect to launch three devices in the OnePlus 9 series

  • OnePlus 9
  • The 9 Pro
  • The 9 Lite

OnePlus 9 Pro: Expected Camera Design

The OnePlus 9 Pro is suppose to look much different from the OnePlus 8 series. This information floats around based on a YouTube video from the Dave2D. The smartphone could follow a vertical module with the rectangular rear camera. We knew this for a while now, but the recent leak totally changes the camera positioning.

The video shows two huge, vertically arranged camera sensors, and then two smaller sensors underneath the other two lenses. A LED flash and potential laser autofocus are both evident in the camera installation.

However, there are info regarding camera specifications. It is likely that there could be the main camera, a telephoto lens with upto 3.3x zoom, a macro lens, and a depth sensor. The camera module also has a branding, which means that OnePlus collaborates on camera lenses with Hasselblad.

This means that the latest OnePlus phones would rely on the camera and boost the camera. Tipsters Max Jambor and Max Weinbach have also confirmed that next generation OnePlus device are likely to come with Hasselblad partnership. It was speculated before that OnePlus plans to collaborate with another iconic camera brand, Leica.

Hasselblad is a camera company from Sweden which make premium format shooters. In past, OnePlus flagships were decent smartphones in general but did not keep up with the competition’s cameras. OnePlus will close the gap by working on their cameras with the camera provider.

The design department is also expect to see the glass, glossy back with a curved metal frame. However, no change is assume on front screen. The device is likely to come with a punch-hole display along with QHD+ screen resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

OnePlus 9 Pro: Expected Specs

The OnePlus 9 Pro is likely to come with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB storage. The latest leak  does not says anything about the Processor. However, the latest Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 Processor is highly anticipate from the OnePlus 9 series.

Compared to the OnePlus 8 Pro, the phone is also expect to have 65W fast charging. Also, The device is likely to support 45W wireless charging. The phone is expected to run on Android 11 based on Oxygen OS 11.

The OnePlus 9 is expect to share most of the specs with the OnePlus 9 Pro. OnePlus 9 will have slightly toned down cameras, display, and battery. The OnePlus 9 Lite could have further toned down features.
