Nokia 1.4 the latest King in budget smartphone section?

Nokia 1.4, coming under entry-level price bracket has been introduced for the smartphone portfolio of Android Go.

Nokia launches its latest affordable Nokia 1.4 smartphone on the global market. Nokia 1.4 has been officially launched as the latest Android Go edition smartphone. The device is released as a successor to last year’s Nokia 1.3. This smartphone comes under Android Go series, trying to keep Google’s Android Go initiative alive.

Android Go smartphones works on Google’s Android OS toned-downed variant. This version of Android OS works perfectly with low-RAM smartphones. The phone is packed with the water drop notch display for the camera. The device comes with a circular camera module with dual sensors and a physical fingerprint sensor is present at the rear.

Nokia 1.4: Features

The latest edition of Nokia 1.4 smartphone comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 SoC. The device will come with 64GB ROM and also supports expandable storage, Android 10 (Go Edition) phone. About front camera, there will be a 5MP selfie camera, and a 6.51-inch HD+ display. The phone comes with a special Google Assistant button on the left side, presumably.

The Nokia 1.4 come with standard set of specifications. The phone comes with a 6.5-inch HD+ display which features a waterdrop notch on the top. The smartphone comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 processor, an entry-level processor which is paired with Adreno 308 GPU. The device is likely to offer three RAM/Storage options, depending on the region where they are launching.

The initial variant of Nokia 1.4 comes with 1GB RAM/16GB storage, an intermediate variant that gets 2GB RAM/32GB storage. The top-end variant comes with 3GB RAM/64GB storage. Users can further expand the internal storage by using memory card of up to 128GB. The device is also  is upgradable to Android 11 (Go Edition).

Nokia 1.4: Camera

The Nokia 1.4 comes with a support for dual rear cameras. These dual camera comes with an 8-MP main camera along with autofocus and a 2-MP macro lens. The device also comes with a rear LED flash. For selfies, The device offers a 5MP snapper in the front. The front camera clicks standard selfies with low to no details. Since the camera configuration is pretty basic and standard, don’t expect some exceptional photography from this device. Other than that, there is no other interesting addition.

The Google Camera Go app, that is available for Android Go devices is enabled by this smartphone. Hence, this app will allow users to use the Portrait mode, HDR, and Night mode on the device. The handset comes with multiple connectivity options including 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, and micro USB port.

Nokia 1.4: Other Specs

The Nokia 1.4 get its power by a 4,000mAh battery and runs on Android Go version 10. In near future it will be update to Android 11 Go Edition. However, I am not sure if the device will get Android 12 Go Edition. Although, the device will receive monthly security updates for three years. The Nokia 1.4 gets a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for security.

Nokia 1.4: Price

The Nokia 1.4 starts at $99 which is roughly around Rs 7,200 for the 1GB/16GB storage model. However, there is no information regarding the pricing of other models. The smartphone will come in Fjord, Charcoal, and Dusk colors.
