Nokia X100 debuts as the next 5G budget phone; features 6GB RAM and 1080p display

Nokia X100 launches as the new budget 5G phone from HMD Global. The tech brand under HMD Global launched the all-new Nokia X100 in the United States. To recall, earlier this year, HMD Global launched the all-new X-Series along with the launch of the Nokia X10 and the X20. Both devices were launched under the mid-range price segment. Moreover, the devices are yet to launch in the Indian sub-continent. Now, along with the launch of Nokia X100, the HMD Global has expanded its X-Series in the United States.



Nokia X100: The New 5G Mobile Phone

The all-new Nokia X100 is moreover the X10 but is only restrained the US markets only. In the United States, the latest X100 smartphone will be available along with T-Mobile and the Metro carriers. The device comes with more or less of the same specs as the Nokia X10. A similar specs device is already available in India with the name of Nokia G50. HMD Global claims that the X100 mainly targets on the entertainment customers. Some of the key highlights of the Nokia X100 includes the 6.67-inch Full HD+ display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G SoC, 6GB of RAM and much more.

Nokia X100: Price and availability

The all-new Nokia X100 comes with 5G connectivity. The latest mobile phone is available in single storage configuration. The latest offering from HMD Global, Nokia X100 is priced at USD 252 which is approximately Rs 18700 for the sole variant. As mentioned above, the device is available exclusively through T-Mobile and Metro network carriers. During the launch event, HMD Global also confirmed that the first sale for the X100 mobile phone will commence on November 19. Although, the company is yet to reveal any information regarding its international availability in other countries like India.




On the other hand, the earlier launched Nokia X10 comes with same specs is priced at USD 300 which is approximately Rs 22300. The all-new X100 is available in single Midnight Blue colour option. Nokia X100: Specifications

The all-new Nokia X100 comes with support for 5G network. It also offers dual SIM support along with 5G connectivity. The latest device supports 6.67-inch Full HD+ display along with a screen resolution of 2400×1080 pixels. For screen protection, the device also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It will protect the screen from minor scratches and other drops. Additionally, the latest mobile phone comes with 20:9 aspect ratio and supports 60Hz screen refresh rate.

  • Hardware

The latest X-Series handset get its power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G SoC. This chipset comes in pair with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 onboard storage. The device also comes with microSD card support. This suggests that the internal storage is expandable. Moreover, it can be expanded by up to 1TB via MicroSD card slot. Regarding the optics, the all-new Nokia X100 comes with quad-rear camera setup. This includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor which comes with ZEISS optics. The primary sensor is accompanied by a 5-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 2-megapixel depth sensor and 2-megapixel macro lens. For selfies, the front camera features a 16-megapixel sensor. Additionally, the X100 smartphone comes with OZO Audio technology. This technology offers better audio and video recording capabilities.



  • Other Features:

The device runs on Google’s Android 11 Operating system along with few of the minor customizations made by the HMD Global. The complete unit is backed by the 4470mAh battery along with 18W fast charging support. Additionally, the Nokia X100 comes with 4 5G-Bands. These includes the n25, n41, n66 and n71 5G bands. As a part of X-Series, HMD Global also confirmed that the new X100 smartphone will receive 3- years of OS updates and four years of monthly security updates.

As for the connectivity options, the all-new Nokia X100 also includes all the necessary connectivity options. These includes 5G, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/, USB Type-C, NFC, etc. For device security, the handset also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. It also gets a 3.5mm headphone jack.
