OnePlus Watch series India launch could happen soon

Two OnePlus Watch models have been spotted getting certified in India with the BIS

OnePlus Watch

OnePlus Watch is coming soon in India. Previously, OnePlus launched its Band in India as its first fitness wearable product. At the time, the OnePlus Health companion app had leaked the presence of two OnePlus Watch models. It seems like the OnePlus Watch will simply be a reworked version of the Oppo Watch launched in India last year. OnePlus is still yet to announce the availability of these products. Although the latest BIS lists have indicated shorter waiting periods.

According to a recent tip from Mukul Sharma, the famous tipster, two OnePlus Watch models have been listed for certification by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). There are two models coming our way, code names W501GB and W301GB. Although the leak does not disclose any information about device. It points at two models in different price brackets. This confirms the possibility of OP Watch based on the Oppo Watch models.

The OnePlus Watch series will release soon in India.

Usually, BIS certifications conducts on a variety of items long before they officially launch. In this case, however, OnePlus may be planning its smart watches for launch alongside the OP 9 series, which would be rumored to be released sometime around March 2021. Most of the BBK sub-brands are coming to India with a lot of priority on wearables, and OnePlus is the latest one to hop on the bandwagon. The OP Band was basically a clone of the Oppo Band.

So far, Leaks have pointed at the OnePlus Watch closely based on the Oppo Watch models. There is also a possibility that these watches could run on the Wear OS platform and use the Snapdragon 4100 chipset. The top-end variant may also have the same curved-edge display as the Oppo Watch.

OnePlus may distinguish its watches with a different Oxygen OS-esque skin on top of the Wear OS stock platform. We might therefore see some exclusive watch faces based on the OnePlus Ambient Display faces. OnePlus could also bring in more exclusive binding features for OnePlus devices. Now, all we have to wait for the pricing from the company.

We expect the OnePlus Watch series to launch from as low as Rs 12,000. The top-of-the-range model could be available at prices close to Rs 17,000. We may also expect LTE models to arrive to our markets at prices that will compete with Apple Watch’s entry-level models.
