Redmi Note 11: First Impression; new Snapdragon phone with AMOLED display

Redmi Note 11 goes official in India with AMOLED display, quad rear camera, a 5000mAh battery. The latest Note series mobile phone comes with the latest MIUI 13.

Xiaomi Redmi Note devices are raining globally. Back in times, Redmi used to launch just one or two Redmi Note phones. Now the brand is offering many Note devices throughout the year. Thus, making it a year-long event. The latest Xiaomi Redmi Note mobile phone launched under the Redmi Note 11 series. To recall, the latest Redmi Note 11 series succeeds the aging Redmi Note 10 series.

Last year, Redmi brought the all-new Redmi Note 11T 5G in this smartphone series. Now, the Chinese smartphone brand has just launched the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11S and the classic Redmi Note 11.  Keep in mind, the classic Redmi Note phone always create buzz all around. Let’s check out the recently launched Redmi Note 11 smartphone in details.



EVOL Design on Redmi Note 11

Xiaomi calls the new design EVOL Design (LOVE Spelt backwards) for its latest Redmi Note 11 series. The all-new vanilla Redmi Note 11 follows the same design pattern. This Redmi phone comes with a very similar design language.

  • Camera Module Design

In this camera unit, the camera sensors are divided into small units. Here, the largest lens accommodates the main 50-megapixel camera sensor. These three camera sensors come in pair with the flash. We received the Stardust White colour unit. This handset is quite shiny and sparkly. In this model, the white colour transits into the light blue colour when the light falls on it.



  • Redmi Note 11 standard design

As for the design, the vanilla Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 comes with a curved back. Although, the handset gets the flat sides. The curved back looks quite glossy. The back material is plasticky, although with glossy looks it appears to get glass.

This shiny back does not attract fingerprints that easily. The curved back may make the phone feel a little routine. The top edge of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 smartphone gets a speaker grille, an IR Blaster and a 3.5mm headphone jack. While, the base of the smartphone carries another speaker grille and a USB Type C port. Also Read – Redmi Note 10 gets listed on Amazon with “coming soon” banner

The volume button and the power button are placed on the left side. This power button doubles up as the physical fingerprint scanner. Furthermore, the SIM Card tray with dual SIM slots and a dedicated microSD card are placed on the right edge. As per our experience, connecting headphone can also be quite convenient.

Furthermore, this Redmi Note phone gets the thin bezels all around it. Although, the chin is relatively thick but not much. Keeping with the trend, the vanilla Redmi Note 11 gets the punch hole notch. This punch hole will also accommodate the front facing camera.

  • Battery and other details

With 5000mAh battery, this Redmi Note 11 phone weighs about 179 grams. Furthermore, this Redmi phone is actually quite slim with 8.09mm. This makes it very easy for the user to grip the phone. As for the rest of the dimensions, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 is 159.9mm long and 73.9mm wide.



With such dimensions, the Redmi Note 11 is not the tallest handset, but relatively lighter in weight. It is one of the slimmest phones from the Chinese smartphone brand. Thus, it makes it easy for the users to hold the phone. No Premium Feels on Xiaomi Redmi Note 11

As mentioned above, the Xiaomi Redmi Note phone feels a quite plasticky. Although, it is a strong plastic. With such body design, the phone does not feel cheap. Furthermore, it does not feel quite as premium as it should. We have already seen some of the premium Redmi Notes in the past. As for the design language, the smartphone follows a very regular design blueprint.

It gets a slightly curved back, the EVOL design and standard front. This makes it a smartphone with safe design. The Redmi Note 11 is not a bad looking phone. It actually gets a brilliant hand feel. Improved Specifications on new Xiaomi Redmi Note

The latest Note series device is less about design and more about the specs. The Chinese smartphone brand is offering an excellent set of specifications at a competitive price point. The Redmi smartphone comes with a 6.43-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display.



This display also gets a screen refresh rate of 90Hz. To recall, this display size is same as its predecessor. Although, the refresh rate on Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 is still less than the one on Redmi Note 10 Pro and the Pro Max.

At the official launch event, Redmi claims that the Note 11 peak brightness can reach up to 1000 nits. White, the peak brightness of Redmi Note 10 can reach up to 1100 nits. In terms of display protection, both the Redmi Note 10 and the Redmi Note 11 comes with same glass protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

  • Upgraded Processor

The all-new Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 mobile phone runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor. This is an upgrade over the Snapdragon 678 SoC. To recall, this Snapdragon 678 powers the Redmi Note 10.



Moreover, the latest processor is enough powerful to handle the daily tasks with ease. Furthermore, it should be able to offer some gaming action. The all-new Redmi Note 11 comes with the base variant of 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Additionally, the other variant includes 6 GB/ 64 GB and 6 GB/ 128 GB storage options. Moreover, this storage is expandable via a MicroSD card. The storage can also be expanded by up to 1TB.

  • Slightly bumped up cameras

The camera units on the latest Redmi Note phone gets a slightly bump up. The phone features a quad rear camera setup. Here, 50-megapixel main sensor is accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. Furthermore, the camera arrangement is pretty much same as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10. Although, instead of 48-megapixel camera on Redmi Note 10, the Redmi Note 11 comes with a 50-megapixel one. For selfies and video calls, the 13-megapixel camera on the Note 11 is same as the one we saw on the Redmi Note 10.

  • MIUI 13 without Android 12

Redmi Note 11 is one of the first Xiaomi phones to launch with the MIUI 13 out of the box. Although, this upgrade is not the big, as Xiaomi did not deliver Android 12 on the latest Redmi Note device. This means that the MIUI 13 on the Redmi Note 11 is based on the Android 12 OS.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 official price in India

In India, the Redmi Note 11 comes with a starting price tag of Rs 13499 for the base variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. Furthermore, the top-end variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage costs around Rs 16499. Keep in mind, this is an effective cost after an introductory Rs 1000 discount. Xiaomi is also providing this introductory discount offer on the Bank of Baroda credit and debit cards.

As for its availability, the Xiaomi Redmi Note device is available for purchase via Mi India website, Mi Home, Amazon India and other retail stores all across the country. With this much price value, the Redmi Note 11 does not seems to be a value for money device. Additionally, this smartphone does not bring any ground breaking upgrades over its predecessor.
