Plastic build tablet
Design-wise the Xiaomi tablet is not very heavy. Here, the Xiaomi Pad 5 comes with a plastic build on the rear side. However, most of the brands generally offer metal back on their tablets. But this time, Xiaomi also did some cost-cutting and offered a plastic back. However, the frame of the tablet is metallic.

The premium Xiaomi Pad 5 runs on Android 11 and MIUI 13 for Pad. Meanwhile, this Xiaomi custom skin comes with several tablet-friendly optimizations. However, still, the display quality is excellent. Viewing angles are also decent. The brightness is also good on this Xiaomi tablet.
Snapdragon processor on Xiaomi tablet
Under the hood, an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 SoC powers the Xiaomi Pad 5 tablet. Additionally, this processor is a 7 nm-based processor. Furthermore, this chipset pairs with Adreno 640 GPU and 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM as standard. The latest Xiaomi Pad also carries up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Meanwhile, another downgrade is that the device does not feature a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
In our usage experience, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 appears to be a bit outdated. But this processor is good enough for the tablet’s productivity and entertainment needs. Another sad part is that the latest Xiaomi tablet comes with Wi-Fi-only connectivity; we don’t get a cellular variant. Gaming Performance
In terms of gaming performance, the Xiaomi Pad 5 aces. With a big display, we loved the gaming performance of this tablet. We played games like BGMI, CoD, and others on the highest settings. We did not notice any issues or frame drops while gaming. Additionally, the Xiaomi tab received an AnTuTu benchmark score of above 5.5 lacs on papers. Overall, the performance is excellent.
Single Rear Camera Setup
The latest Xiaomi tablet comes with a 13MP camera sensor with an f/2.0 aperture at the back. This rear camera supports up to 4K video recording at a 30fps frame rate. Furthermore, the rear camera also supports document scanning in original, enhanced, and black and white modes.
The Xiaomi Pad 5 gets an 8MP selfie camera sensor with an f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calling. This front camera supports up to Full-HD+ video recording at a 30fps frame rate. Xiaomi claims that the dual microphone on the tablet will suppress the outdoor noise and reduce ambient noise. It will also enhance the audio of the speaker. Overall, the camera quality is decent.
Massive Battery with fast charging
Xiaomi Pad 5 packs an 8720mAh battery along with 33W fast charging support. However, as mentioned above, the company is bundling a 22.5W charger within the box. Xiaomi claims that the inbuilt battery can deliver over 16 hours of video playback time on a single charge cycle.

Connectivity and Sensors
The Xiaomi Pad 5 tablet includes Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth v5.0. It also gets a USB Type-C with OTG support in terms of connectivity options. The Xiaomi tablet does not have GPS support. Similarly, for sensors onboard, the tablet includes an Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Magnetometer, Gravity Sensor, Ambient Light Sensors, and Orientation sensor. The fingerprint sensor is missing from the tablet. However, the Face unlocking feature works fine in lighting conditions. One of the biggest complaints from Xiaomi is the missing 3.5mm headphone jack on this tablet. Regarding other connectivity options, the Xiaomi tablet does support dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth v5. Moreover, it also gets OTG support with a USB Type-C port.
Other Features
The Xiaomi Pad 5 also includes quad speakers along with Dolby Atmos support. It also gets Hi-Res support for both wired and wireless. The quad speakers are highly impressive. The Dolby Atmos is icing on the top. Watching movies and videos on this tablet will be an excellent experience with excellent display and audio. Furthermore, it will also compensate for tracking losses caused by latency. A Xiaomi Pen Engine also provides low latency with the included stylus.

Compared to the initial Mi Pad released in India, Xiaomi’s Pad 5 appears to be a significant comeback. However, the Xiaomi Pad 5, on the other hand, is in a whole different pricing range.
