Asus, the Taiwanese tech giant, is gearing up for the launch of its ZenFone 8 series on May 12. This event marks their second major launch this year, following the successful ROG Phone 5 release. The upcoming smartphone series will feature two flagship models: the Asus ZenFone 8 and ZenFone 8 Flip.
The rumour mill has been buzzing with leaks about these upcoming smartphones. Recently, an official design render of the ZenFone 8 series surfaced, giving us a glimpse of what’s to come. Notably, both the Asus ZenFone 8 and ZenFone 8 Flip have already been leaked ahead of the official launch.

The ZenFone 8 is rumoured to feature a 5.9-inch display, while the ZenFone 8 Flip might come with a larger 6.67-inch screen. Flip phone with Flip camera module
The ZenFone 8 is likely to sport a dual-camera system, possibly with a 64 MP main sensor and an ultra-wide-angle lens. At the same time, ZenFone 8 Flip, true to its name, could feature a flip-up camera module similar to its predecessor. This unique design allows the rear cameras to serve as front-facing cameras as well.

According to details from leaked renders, the successor to the ZenFone 7 series, the ZenFone 8 Flip, is shaping up to be a non-gaming flagship. Furthermore, it could launch with the same unique flip-up camera design. This is ideal for creative selfie angles and eliminating the need for a notch. To recall, the same camera arrangement was last seen in the ZenFone 7 series. Whereas, the new model of ZenFone 8 will feature a conventional camera arrangement. The previously rumoured ZenFone 8 Mini has shed the “Mini” title and will simply be called ZenFone 8.
The all-new Vanilla model is likely to offer a conventional rear camera setup for a more traditional phone experience. The leaked renders have been shared by 91Mobiles. The website showcases both the ZenFone 8 and ZenFone 8 Flip in all their glory. Thus, offering a better idea of their designs before the official launch.
Asus ZenFone 8 Flip: Leaked Renders
As per leaked renders, the Asus ZenFone 8 Flip could be the more expensive smartphone out of the two. The ZenFone 8 Flip retains the innovative flip-up camera design seen in previous models, offering a full-screen display without a notch and potentially justifying a higher price tag. 1080p AMOLED Display
Housing the flip-up camera, the ZenFone 8 Flip might feature a sizable 6.67-inch 1080p AMOLED display. This massive display will come with a 90Hz refresh rate for a smooth and immersive viewing experience. The rear end of the smartphone appears to be unchanged based on the renders. The smartphone will feature the same rear design as the older model.
Zenfone 8 Flip with triple camera
The ZenFone 8 Flip might boast a versatile 64MP triple-camera system on the back. This unique camera setup potentially includes a high-resolution main sensor.
