Asus ZenFone 8 series specifications leak, Snapdragon 888 hinted

The Asus ZenFone 8 series is one of the most awaited smartphone coming from the house of Asus. The smartphone is already making some hype all over the internet. According to reports, the smartphone is speculated to come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 chipset. Now, some recent leaks confirms about existence of two possible variants under ZenFone 8 series. Meanwhile, These smartphones are likely to called as ZenFone 8 and ZenFone 8 Pro. According to these leaks, both the smartphones will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 SoC. These devices are likely to offer high refresh rate display.

Asus ZenFone 8 Series: Leaks

According to sources, The ZenFone 8 smartphone is likely to come with the model number ZS590KS. Also, The device is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 SoC. The smartphone is likely to come with FHD display along with 120Hz high refresh rate. However, there is no mention about the display panel technology. Regarding cameras, the main rear camera is likely to come with either Sony IMX686 or IMX683 sensor.

Asus ZenFone 8 Series: Expected Specs

According to ReaMEIZU on Twitter, the other smartphone is likely to come with the code name ZS673KS. This code name associates with ZenFone 8 Pro. The device is listed with some upgrades over the regular base model. Although, the device comes with same chipset but the display could feature a 144Hz refresh rate. Regarding cameras, The rear camera setup is likely to combine Sony IMX686, OM13855 and OV8856 sensors.

No Flip Camera Mechanism:

Additionally, the Pro variant is likely to have a dedicated OV24B1Q camera sensor on the front. Thus, confirming that their is a possibility that Asus is likely to ditch the Flip camera mechanism. To recall, this Flip camera mechanism was introduce with ZenFone 6 series. With the absence of Flip camera mechanism, Asus is likely to go with conventional form factor for the upcoming Zenfone 8 Series smartphones. Additionally, These devices are likely to feature a punch-hole cutout display or even uniform bezels like ROG Phone 5. Till now, Asus has not disclosed anything about the front display. To recall, The previous generation, Asus ZenFone 7 series did not make it to most markets including India.

Asus ROG Phone Series:

Ideally, Asus mostly focuses on its ROG Phone series. Thus, the company ditches the ZenFone series of phones in most of the markets including India. Recently, the company just showcased it’s ROG phone 5 series globally. The smartphone series contains multiple smartphones targeting different price brackets. To recall, The ROG Phone 5 is the successor to ROG Phone 3.

The ROG Phone 5 comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 chipset which provides superior performance. Also, The device comes with an AMOLED display along with 144Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is back by a massive 6000mAh battery along with 65W fast charging support.
