For the upcoming Ultra series, the smartphone is likely to get a new camera sensor for the main camera and the telephoto lens. Samsung may stick to the Snapdragon chips for its flagship series.

Samsung hasn’t upgraded the battery size or charging speed of its Galaxy S Ultra flagship since 2020’s Galaxy S20 Ultra. However, we have come across one major leak that makes the Galaxy S26 Ultra 5G game-changing. Reportedly, the smartphone could get the battery and charging upgrade. Battery and Charging Improvements
Till, Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra series the company has been managing to offer decent screen-on time to users. With the help of software optimisation and more efficient processors, the company made this possible. Unfortunately, it can not be true for the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra. While these are just leaks, Samsung is yet to make any comment on this Galaxy S26 Ultra 5G battery details. With this the Galaxy S26 Ultra 5G could look more exciting in comparison to its predecessor with new cameras, upgraded performance, and finally a bigger battery. While Samsung hasn’t confirmed anything yet, the leaks are gaining attention because the company has kept its flagship charging speeds constant.
Same Battery
Previously, another leaker @UniverseIce with solid track record around Samsung’s leaks, claims that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will get the same 5,000 mAh battery. Tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) posted on X (formerly Twitter) that the rumoured Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is going to get a 5,000mAh battery. If this is true, then 2026 will be the sixth year when Samsung has not increased the battery size of its Galaxy S Ultra model. The current Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, the flagship S-series smartphone in Samsung’s portfolio, also houses a 5,000mAh battery. This is the same battery pack as its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Both leakers disagree, but it sounds like we’re getting improvements either way. A battery boost and a charging speed increase would be the best outcome for customers. Although, it would be very unsurprising if Samsung ended up sticking with the same battery size in favor of faster charging. 60W fast charging on Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra
Leaked details from an internal One UI 8.5 firmware suggest the Galaxy S26 Ultra will support up to 60W fast charging. This will be a much-needed jump that puts it closer to what other Android brands are already offering. Due to battery safety concerns, Samsung has played it safe in this department. There’s also the question of how faster charging will impact battery health over time.
Now, it appears the South Korean tech giant is ready to take a step forward. Since, the battery capacity is likely to stay at 5,000 mAh, the boost in charging speed means quicker top-ups. The source behind this leak is X (formerly Twitter) user @erenylmaz075. The leaker claims that the firmware not only confirms the upgraded charging speed but also references the next-gen chipset.

Camera Specifications and Features
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra camera rumors suggest that the primary rear sensor, as well as the 3x and 5x lenses, are set to receive meaningful upgrades. The Galaxy S26 Ultra could offer a 1/1.1-inch 200MP primary rear Sony sensor. The new primary camera will be a significant improvement over the S25 Ultra’s proprietary 1/1.3-inch sensor.

Besides the new main camera, the smartphone is also likely to feature a 12MP telephoto lens. This will be an upgrade from a 10MP lens on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Samsung Galaxy S26 Series Naming
Each year, the Ultra model takes the attention over the other Galaxy S series models. Besides the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, this year there is a possibility of major change across the Galaxy S26 lineup. According to Android Authority’s report, Samsung might be reworking its entire naming strategy. Instead of the usual Galaxy S26, S26 Plus and S26 Ultra, the company may drop the standard and Plus variants.
In their place, the trio of Galaxy S26 devices are likely to be the S26 Pro, S26 Edge and S26 Ultra. This leak comes from the codenames found in an internal One UI 8 firmware build. Also Read: Watch Ayodhya Ram Mandir morning Aarti live daily
As per the firmware build, there are three reference devices labelled M1, M2, and M3. These are believed to correspond to the Galaxy S26 Pro, S26 Edge, and S26 Ultra models, respectively. Also Read: Lava Blaze Dragon 5G with Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 launched for Rs 9999
Based on the new naming strategy, Samsung may possibly be looking to increase the prices across the lineup. The Pro model will now take over as the base model.
