This year, Qualcomm is launching new mobile chips faster than ever. The latest addition in Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor list is Snapdragon 778G chip. The latest chip is touted as a junior variant to the more powerful Snapdragon 780G. However, the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G comes with lot of high-end features. The chipset is capable of providing such features that are expected from Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series powered devices.
Upcoming Devices with Snapdragon 778G Chip
Currently, there are several other rumors floating around the same subject. According to latest rumors, the all new chip could launch with the Honor P50 series, an upcoming smartphone. Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G: Features and Details
The all new Qualcomm chipset comes with a Cortex A78 processor along with a Kryo 670 CPU which is clocked at 2.4GHz. All this is accompanied by the Adreno 642L GPU. This Adreno GPU also gets support for Vulkan 1.1, OpenGL 3S 3.1, OpenCL 2.0 FP, HDR10+, and HDR10. The latest Snapdragon processor makes use of triple 14-bit Spectra 570 ISP.
192-MP Single Camera with HDR support
This ISP can support upto 192-MP single camera or up to 36-MP + 22-MP dual-camera system or up to 22-MP triple camera system. Additionally, this ISP also gets support for 10-bit HDR HEIF / HEIC photo capture, AI-based autofocus, multi-frame noise reduction, 720p/240fps slow-motion video shooting, HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG. Connectivity and more
The all new Qualcomm chip comes with support for 5G connectivity. This is possible because of existence of the Snapdragon X53 5G modem-RF system. This modem can peak the download speeds to up to 3.3 Gbps. Also, it comes with support for both mmWave and Sub-6 GHz 5G spectrums.
Other wireless connectivity options may include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and dual-frequency GPS. The Wired connectivity support includes USB 3.1 and USB-C. Qualcomm has also added support for Qualcomm 3D Sonic and 3D Sonic Max fingerprint scanners. Also to know, the all new Snapdragon 778G Chipset comes with faster Quick Charge 5 technology. This means that we can expect smartphone to get support for 100W fast charging system along this processor.
