OnePlus Buds Pro 2 recently launched as the latest premium true wireless earbuds (TWS) globally. Launched alongside the OnePlus 11, the Buds Pro 2 is the newest premium TWS from the company. With the launch of OnePlus latest earbuds, the company will take on the likes of Samsung Galaxy Buds 2, Galaxy Buds2 Pro etc. The latest earbuds come with a Dynaudio partnership, courtesy of Oppo. This could be because OnePlus already shares its Hasselblad partnership with Oppo’s premium devices.
The OnePlus Oppo partnership led to a significant price hike compared to its predecessor, the OnePlus Buds Pro. Hence the question arises, is it that much better than the OnePlus Buds Pro to justify its price of ₹11,999? Let’s find out, shall we? In this article, we will compare the latest OnePlus Buds with the Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro, another premium, Truly Wireless Earbuds available in the market. OnePlus Buds Pro 2 vs Galaxy Buds2 Pro: Design
The all-new OnePlus Buds 2 Pro follows in the footsteps of its predecessor in terms of design. The OnePlus earbuds 2 Pro has a sleek and pocket-friendly design similar to its predecessor. Furthermore, these OnePlus Buds Pro foam tips for ears are soft and cozy. With such a design, the TWS buds don’t bulge out of pocket. Despite a sleek design, the Buds Pro 2 feels slightly bulkier when compared to the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro2.
Colors Options
The all-new OnePlus Buds Pro 2 comes in three colors, the OG Obsidian Black, Arbor Green, and Misty White. The Arbor Green color was launched to match the new OnePlus 11 smartphone. This Green color variant has a dual-tone finish, a glossy touch on the stem, and a matte feel on the buds. The OnePlus Buds Pro charging case gets a matte finish.
Meanwhile, the overall look and feel resemble the Apple AirPods Pro. At the same time, the Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro graphite color option looks excellent. Â White and Bora Purple options are also decent. Also Read – OnePlus Bluetooth earphones, One Plus Nord Buds CE earbuds review in India
One Plus Pro Buds 2 vs Galaxy Buds2 Pro: Comfort and Fit
Now this may be subjective, but the fit of the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 was decent in my ears. The earbuds remain intact during running, working out, and skipping activities. However, the fit was not good enough to prevent audio leakage. But this leakage is not sufficient to recognize what the user is listening to. Galaxy Buds2 Pro vs Buds Pro 2: Audio Quality
The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 have marginally superior build quality. The Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro and OnePlus earbuds have similar features. Compared to the latest Galaxy Buds2 Pro, the Buds Pro 2 does not have a few top-notch features. While both models have a similar dual-driver setup and may exhibit a slight difference in audio quality, the ANC experience on the newest Galaxy Buds 2 might seem unsatisfactory.
Furthermore, the Galaxy Buds 2 lacks support for certain features, such as Spatial Audio with head-tracking and multi-point connectivity. However, these features are available on the OnePlus Buds Pro 2. This feature difference is understandable since the Galaxy Buds2 Pro is relatively older. Additionally, the earbuds also vary in terms of supported codecs. The Galaxy Buds2 Pro supports SBC, AAC, and Samsung Scalable Codec. While the One Plus Buds Pro 2 support LHDC, AAC, SBC, and LC3 codecs. It is worth noting that the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 and the Galaxy Buds2 Pro have three microphones in each earbud. This feature improves the earbuds’ call quality and enables active noise cancellation.
OnePlus Buds Pro 2 Sound Quality
To test the audio quality of the OnePlus Buds 2 Pro, we used Hans Zimmer’s ‘Mountains’ from Interstellar. As Hans Zimmer is the brand ambassador for the OnePlus earbuds 2 Pro, what better soundtrack to test the audio than ‘Mountains’ from Interstellar? Moreover, to spice things up, I compared the device with the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro powered by AKG. Also Read- Oppo Enco Buds Cover for Air 2 Pro TWS earbuds, Enco Air 2 Pro vs Realme Buds Air 3

Bass quality and driver/tweeter size
The thumping sound of the organ introduced in the background at 2:02 hits you like a truck. This kind of sound quality makes the One Plus Buds Pro 2 stand out from the competition. Even statistically, the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 has a slightly bigger driver (11mm) and tweeter (6mm) than the Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro’s 10mm driver and 5mm tweeter.
Active Noise Cancellation efficiency(ANC)
The OnePlus Buds Pro 2’s noise cancellation (NC) is effective but not the best in the market. It’s not as good as the Sony WF-1000XM4, but it’s better than the Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro. Also Read – Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro price in Nepal, wireless earphones for mobile phone

One Plus Buds Pro 2 Call Quality
The crucial aspect to consider regarding the microphone is its performance in a noisy environment. To evaluate this, I lent the earbuds to a friend and made him call while crossing a bustling street in my town. Surprisingly, I could comprehend each word he spoke without needing to repeat himself. The voice quality was remarkably clear. The Buds Pro 2 detected the background noise and utilized active noise cancellation to enhance the call quality, maintaining the loudness of his voice.
OnePlus Buds Pro 2 Connectivity
If you use a OnePlus or Oppo device, the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 may be an ideal choice. These earbuds offer seamless connectivity with any OnePlus or Oppo device. Moreover, all the settings are accessible within the Bluetooth menu on these smartphones. Regarding the HeyMelody app, it is an excellent app that offers valuable and practical features without any gimmicks. The app provides an option for Dual Connectivity, enabling you to switch effortlessly between two devices. You can also switch between the ANC and transparency mode efficiently. The app lets you toggle among the three ANC levels based on your surroundings.
Moreover, you can also opt for the Smart ANC feature, allowing the app to adjust the levels automatically. The latest Buds Pro 2 has a battery capacity of 525mAh in the case. The company claims this battery can last up to 39 hours when fully charged. Nevertheless, in actual usage, the OnePlus Buds Pro battery life could reduce to approximately 30 hours when the ANC feature is turned on. This still provides a reasonable 7 hours of playback time per use.
In addition, a few exciting functions are associated with the stem, including a quick squeeze to play and pause, a double tap to move on to the next track, and a triple tap to play the previous track. However, stem volume control is not included. At the same time, the Samsung Buds 2 Pro battery life is comparable to One Plus TWS. Also Read – Low Latency Earbuds for TV; Realme Buds Wireless 2 price
