Reliance Jio to bring a low-cost Android laptop in India

Reliance Jio is soon likely to launch its first-ever laptop, called JioBook, that too in the affordable price bracket. The company is currently working on this laptop.

Reliance Jio is one of the biggest tech giants in the country. The company came in existence with the birth of 4G services in the country. Additionally, the company also provides variety of other services to its customer. Later the company entered into hardware space with the launch of JioPhone. The JioPhone came as the cheapest 4G phone with provides 4G connectivity to the customers. According to recent reports, the company is likely to introduce a Jio laptop in India.

JioBook to launch in India

This Jio Laptop is likely to launch soon in India with an alleged name of JioBook. According to leaks, the telecom giant is working on its first ever laptop. The leaks also confirms that laptop will run on Android instead of Windows OS. JioBook Alleged Design

According to XDA Developers report, the alleged laptop is likely to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 665 SoC. This chipset will come with 4G LTE-enabled Snapdragon X12 modem. This confirms that the device will come with 4G-connectivity. Additionally, this will be beneficial for the Jio’s 4G cellular connectivity in India. To recall, According to a report from Economic Times, The telecom giant Jio India was suppose to collaborate with Qualcomm back in 2018.

The XDA Developers also posted a prototype image of Jio’s laptop. But it is likely that the final product will be different from this prototype image. According to prototype image, JioBook appears to come with basic design. However, this image shows the Windows Key. It is highly expected that the Windows Key will be replace by the Android Key in final design layout. This means that the JioBook will get rid of Windows Key. The laptop will feature an Android Key instead of Windows Key.

According to reports, Jio India has also joined hands with China-based Bluebank Communication Technology. This company makes mobile devices and other software for third-parties. As per reports, Both Reliance Jio and Bluebank will get various components from other vendors. It is likely that Samsung will provide DRAM and NAND Chips. On the other hand, Qualcomm will offer chipset and other components.

JioBook Alleged Specs

This upcoming JioBook is likely to come in two RAM/ Storage variants. These variants may include

  1. 2GB of LPDDR4X RAM/ 32GB of eMMC storage
  2. 3GB of LPDDR4X RAM/ 64GB of eMMC storage

These laptops are likely to feature a 1366×768 screen resolution. Additionally, it is also confirm that these laptops will offer pre-installed Jio Apps which are made specifically for India. Reports also claims that these laptops may also come with the support for Google Apps and even Microsoft Apps.

JioBook Expected Launch

Recent reports confirms that the JioBook laptop is under development is September last year. These reports also confirm that the Jio laptop could launch anytime during the first half of this year in India. It is likely that telecom giant Jio could launch this laptop along with next generation JioPhone. Some leaks also confirms that the next generation JioPhone could be a low-cost Android-based device. Additionally, The company is collaborating with Qualcomm and Google for the same.

JioBook Expected Price

The JioBook laptop is likely to come at an affordable price in India. This pricing will make it easy for the costumers to buy this laptop. Similar to JioPhone, the company could bundle some plans with this upcoming laptop. These plans could either of Jio 4G plans or JioFiber plans, which will attract more customers in India.

However, all the details regarding this upcoming JioBook laptop is still under scrutiny. Thus, we lack complete info regarding this laptop.
