Qualcomm Snapdragon 775 and 775G surface online ahead of launch

Specifications of upcoming Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 775 and Snapdragon 775G chips have leaked online. These chipset will replace current generation Snapdragon 765G

In 2020, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G is one of the most hot selling chipset under smartphone category. This chipset comes with premium mid-range Android smartphones. Since this processor is getting old, we can expect the announcement of its successor in near future. However, no such details about the announcement is official yet. According to leaks, Qualcomm is planning to upgrade to its ageing Snapdragon 765G processor. These leaks confirms that Qualcomm Snapdragon 775/775G will succeed this ageing Snapdragon 765G processor.

Additionally, This upcoming Snapdragon 775/775G processor is likely to get upgraded cores and better video recording capabilities. These leaks are confirm by XDA Developers. According to a report from XDA Developers, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 775 and Snapdragon 775G are likely to launch as successor to the Snapdragon 765 series chipset.

Also, a detail spec sheet leaks via Telegram channel. This leaked sheet reveals some key details about these upcoming chipset. Snapdragon 775 Series: Expected Specs

According to leaked specs sheet, the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 775 series processors will get more power efficient as well as powerful. These chipsets are likely to be design on a 5nm manufacturing process. Thus, confirming it to be an upgrade over 7nm Snapdragon 765G processor. Additionally, there will be new Kryo 6xx cores. However, there is no mention about the arrangement of these cores.

  • RAM Arrangement

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 775 Series processors are likely to support LPDDR4X RAM at speeds of 2400MHz. However, different OEMs can also select 3200MHz LPDDR5 RAM. This LPDDR5 RAM will help with performance-oriented devices. According to sources, this LPDDR5 RAM is most likely to be used on Snapdragon 775 gaming version. Additionally, these chipsets will support UFS 3.1 two-lane Gear 4 storage.

  • Camera

In this new Snapdragon 775 series chipset, the ISP will get an upgrade. These chipsets will also provide support for 4K video recording at 60 fps which was absent in previous generations of chipset. The latest Spectra 570 ISP will also support a triple camera arrangement. This ISP will support upto 28-MP sensors all at once.

  • Connectivity

For connectivity, These latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 775 series chipsets will support LTE Cat 18. Additionally, it will also gain support for mmWave 5G networks. The chipset will also provide support for Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth Milan, and 802.11ax Wi-Fi. Snapdragon 775 Series: Verdict

Till Now, Qualcomm has not revealed any official details about these chipsets. Qualcomm’s premium segment of chipset lineup is getting bigger day by day. With the launch of these chipset, the premium segment will become more bigger. In this premium segment, The high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC is reserved for top-end premium smartphones. The Snapdragon 870 SoC is launched for “Flagship Killer” category of smartphones. Now, these upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 775 series of processors are likely to provide faster performance with 5G connectivity. These processors could bring such features in more affordable devices.
