Twitter: Safety Mode
To improve the security, the social media service has also showcased another new feature called “Safety Mode“. This feature allows users to block and mute all the abusive accounts. Whenever this feature is active, it will automatically block and mute all the abusive accounts. According to reports, the platform will automatically detect abusive and spammy accounts. Twitter will then limit the access of their content for next seven days initially.
This was just an showcase event that took place this Thursday. Twitter has not shared any specific date or timeline as of when these features will be made accessible for all the users. However, it is likely that the company will start experimenting with these feature later this year.
Twitter: Birdwatch
These days spreading of misinformation on social media platform is increasing rapidly. This has become an important topic of discussion among the users. Currently, Twitter is working on a new feature called Birdwatch.
This feature will allow users to add context along the tweet that seems to be offering misleading information. This context can be added in form of notes at the bottom of the tweet. For example, if a user casually tweets that Humans are not real, then other user can add notes to offer more context regarding this misconception.
