Apple releases iOS 14.5, iPadOS 14.5 beta version, stable version to launch later this month

Apple has officially launched the latest beta version of iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5. This update marks the eighth developer beta for its iPhone and iPad devices. The tech giant has confirmed that the stable versions of iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 will be available by the end of April. However, the exact release date is yet to be announced.

Apple iOS Updates and New Features

The update also includes two new Siri voice options, removes gender and accent specifications for Siri voices, and no longer defaults to being a female voice in the USA. Additionally, it includes a Waze-like crowdsourcing feature for reporting accidents, hazards, and speed checks along a route in Maps when getting directions.



On the security front, the update addresses several vulnerabilities, providing users with a safer and more secure experience. The stable version of iOS 14.5 is set to roll out in early spring. The most recent beta versions of iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 for iPhone and iPad are now accessible to all iOS users enrolled in Apple’s beta testing program, as reported by AppleInsider. Users who have installed the iOS 14.5 Beta 7 version can simply click the update button to download an over-the-air (OTA) update to the latest beta version.

Apple iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 beta update: Features

With the latest beta update, iOS 14.5 introduces Apple’s App Tracking Transparency Settings on Apple devices. Users have the option to either permit app tracking or request the app to refrain from tracking. In addition to the aforementioned features, the latest beta versions of iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 on Apple devices will support wireless gaming controllers, including those from PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.



The update enhances FaceID authentication, enabling it to function even when the user is wearing a mask. However, this feature requires the user to have an Apple Watch. How to download new beta update?

As mentioned, to download latest beta update, users have to first enroll themselves for Apple’s beta testing program. The users who has already joined the Apple program will be on the seventh beta build for iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 update.



These users can simply click the update button to download the new beta update. Keep in mind, your device should be in connection to a stable network before starting the installation process.
