Apple officially releases the latest beta version of iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 update. The tech giant has officially announce that they have release the eighth developer beta update for its iPhones and iPads. The company confirms that the stable update for the iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 will be released by the end of April. However, the exact launch date has not been announce as of yet.

The latest iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 beta version for iPhone and iPad is available for all the iOS users who are enrolled in the company’s beta testing program. This news is revealed by AppleInsider. According to report, if the user has installed iOS 14.5 Beta 7 version, then users can click the update button to download an OTA update to the latest beta version. To recall, Apple release the seventh beta build for iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 update last week. Also, the first beta update was roll out around two months back.

Apple iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 beta update: Features

In Apple devices with this beta update, the iOS 14.5 brings Apple’s App Tracking Transparency Settings. This feature will allow all the developers to first ask for users permission before accessing the personal data to track them across the apps. With this feature, users can either allow the app to track or may ask the app not to track them. If the user disable this tracking feature, then apps will not be able to directly access the identifier to track them across the apps on their devices.

Beside this feature, In Apple devices, the latest beta version of iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 will include the support for wireless gaming controllers. These may include controllers from the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X. This update also brings better FaceID authentication feature even while wearing mask on. However, this feature works with a catch. Here, users need to own an Apple Watch to access this FaceID feature while wearing mask. Although, this feature is quite helpful these days courtesy on going Covid-19 pandemic. The latest iOS 14.5 update also allow users to access over 200 new emojis on their Apple devices. It also brings new and improved Siri voices.

How to download new beta update?

As mentioned, to download latest beta update, users have to first enroll themselves for Apple’s beta testing program. The users who has already joined the Apple program will be on the seventh beta build for iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 update. These users can simply click the update button to download the new beta update. Keep in mind, your device should be in connection to a stable network before starting the installation process.
