OnePlus finally unveils its highly-anticipated OnePlus Nord CE (Core Edition) 5G smartphone in India. The launch even takes placed at the OnePlus Summer Launch event. The 5G phone launches alongside the OnePlus TV U1S in India. OnePlus Nord CE 5G is the successor to the ageing Original Nord phone, which was launched last year as a mid-range smartphone. The latest Nord phone comes as the next affordable 5G phone from the brand along with all the trending features. Some of the key highlighting features of this Nord CE 5G phone includes 5G Connectivity, higher refresh rate and faster charging.
OnePlus Nord CE 5G: Affordable 5G phone
The all new 5G phone resembles to the original OnePlus Nord phone in terms of device language. The device features a pill-shaped rear camera setup. This camera setup is aligned vertically. The main difference comes in the camera sensor count. As, this year’s model gets triple rear camera configuration. Whereas, the last year’s original Nord phone use to feature four rear cameras. Beside this, there is a punch-hole cutout on the display in this year’s affordable OnePlus 5G phone. To recall, the original Nord phone comes with dual selfie camera.
In terms of dimension, this affordable 5G phone is defined as the sleekest handset from OnePlus with 7.9mm of thickness. The device weighs around 170 grams. The smartphone also gets a 3.5mm headphone jack. the last year’s model was 8.2mm thick and also skips the 3.5mm audio jack. The latest Nord CE 5G smartphone comes in three color options. These includes Blue Void, Charcoal Ink and Silver Ray color.

The all-new affordable OnePlus Nord CE 5G phone comes with a Fluid AMOLED display along with 90Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the Nord CE supports a 6.43-inch display which comes with a screen resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. Additionally, the device supports a pixel density of 410ppi. This is slightly higher than 408ppi pixel density of the Original Nord phone.

This second Nord phone in India is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G SoC. The same chipset is already seen on the Samsung Galaxy M42 5G and the Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G. The Chinese brand is offering this latest smartphone in three RAM/ Storage options. These includes 6GB/ 128GB, 8GB/ 128GB, and 12GB/ 256GB of RAM/ Storage. Being an affordable 5G Phone, OnePlus ditches the 64GB storage option this year. To recall, the original Nord phone also comes with 64GB storage option.

As for the camera configuration, The OnePlus Nord CE 5G gets a 64-MP triple rear camera setup. The 64-MP main camera sensor comes with 6P Lens and EIS Supports. This main camera is accompanied by an 8-MP ultra-wide-angle lens. This secondary lens also gets EIS support. The third lens is a 2-MP macro lens. The smartphone also gets important camera features such as an LED flash, 4K videos 30fps, a combination of PDAF and CAF, Super slow-motion videos, Nightscape mode, and more. For selfies, there is a 16-MP shooter with EIS support. Additionally, the front camera is a step down from last year’s model which comes with dual front cameras.

The affordable Nord CE 5G phone packs in a 4500mAh battery along with support for Warp Charge 30T Plus fast charging. OnePlus claims that this smartphone can reach from 0 to 70 per cent in just 30 minutes with proprietary charger. Additionally, the device runs on Oxygen OS which is based on Android 11 out of the box. Additional security features include an in-display fingerprint scanner and Face ID Unlock feature. Regarding connectivity option, the device also includes Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth version 5.1, GPS, NFC, GLONASS, NaVIC, USB Type-C port, dual-SIM support, and more.

Meanwhile, the all-new Nord CE 5G comes as the next affordable 5G phone. The latest OnePlus Nord CE 5G price starts at Rs 22999 for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The other option with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage comes for Rs 24999. Whereas, the top variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage comes with Rs 27999. The latest handset competes with the likes of iQOO Z3 5G, the Samsung Galaxy M42 5G and the Xiaomi Mi 10i.
The smartphone is already available for pre-orders starting June 11. The device will be available to buy in India starting June 16.
