Google Pixel 6a with Tensor SoC, 12.2-megapixel Sony IMX363 Primary sensor tipped online

According to reports, Google Pixel 6a could launch with in-house Tensor chipset. The upcoming Pixel device is likely to feature 12.2-megapixel Sony IMX363 primary sensor.

Google officially released its Pixel 6 Series in the month of October. At the launch event, the tech giant unveiled its Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Now, the search giant is preparing to launch a toned-down variant in this premium smartphone series. According to reports, the Google Pixel 6a is likely to be the compact phone under the Pixel 6 series. The report suggests that the upcoming Google Pixel 6a is under development. The latest report reveals some of the key highlights of the upcoming mid-range smartphone.



New Google Pixel Phone under making:

As per these reports, the upcoming Google Pixel 6 series phone will reportedly get the same Tensor SoC. To recall, the earlier model under the Pixel 6 series were also launched with the same chipset. The report also mentions some of the camera details about the Pixel 6a smartphone. This report suggests that the rear camera module is likely to get the same design as the Google Pixel 6. Worth mentioning, the latest Google Pixel 6a will succeed the Pixel 5a 5G. Moreover, the device could also launch in India.

Google Pixel 6a specs leaked online:

According to report from 9to5Google, the upcoming Google Pixel 6a will be a mid-range smartphone. The latest Google mobile phone will be powered by the Google Tensor GS101 chip. The same chipset is found under the hood of Pixel 6. The rear camera placement is likely to be same as what we have already seen on Google Pixel 6 series.   • Sony IMX sensor on Google Pixel phone:

Furthermore, the report also confirms that the upcoming Google Pixel phone will feature dual-rear camera setup. Here, the 12.2-megapixel primary camera will come with Sony IMX363 sensor on the Google Pixel 6a. To recall, the same camera sensor is present in every Pixel smartphone starting from Pixel 3 to Pixel 5a 5G. The upcoming Pixel phone will also get a selfie camera of 8-megapixel with Sony IMX355 sensor.




Moreover, it is highly likely that the upcoming phone will also borrow some of the flagship features from the Google Pixel 6. These features may include Google Assistant voice typing, Live HDR, on-device translation and may more. If this is correct, it will buck the trend that the Pixel A-series has been following by far. Until now, starting from the Pixel 3a, all Pixel A-series phones have used the camera sensor from their respective flagship series. Google’s photographic prowess is achieved by compensating with features like Super Res Zoom and machine intelligence.

In the past, some of the leaks also revealed the CAD renders of the upcoming Google Pixel phone. These renders showcase the centrally located hole-punch cutout. This cutout will accommodate the front selfie camera. Moreover, the render also confirms that the device could get a dual-rear camera setup. It also confirmed that the camera module will be similar to one seen on the vanilla variant. Although, the phone may not accommodate the 3.5mm headphone jack. For device security, the phone will also get an in-display fingerprint scanner.

  • Hardware:

As for the expected specifications, the Google Pixel 6a is likely to support a 6.2-inch display. Unofficial renders suggest that the upcoming Pixel 6a might get either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. The device could launch with 128GB of onboard storage. The toned-variant will get the dimensions measuring 152.2×71.8×8.7mm. Besides Pixel 6a phone, Google is upgrading the “At A Glance” feature on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. The feature was first teased during the annual Google I/O conference. As per report from 9to5Google, Google is likely to change the placement of this feature.
