Xiaomi is all popular for its rumours and speculations about its upcoming smartphones over the internet. Some recent speculation suggests about a mini-Xiaomi phone with Snapdragon 870 SoC. Moreover, multiple reports also indicates that Xiaomi is planning to launch a premium compact phone under the Xiaomi 12 series. Now, according to recent leaks, the upcoming Xiaomi smartphone is likely to be dubbed as Xiaomi 12X. The all-new Xiaomi 12X could launch with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8-series chipset. The report further indicates that this will not be the only device to launch this year.
Mini Phone under Xiaomi 12 Series:
This means that Xiaomi is working on two such compact phones. The first mini phone is already confirm as the Xiaomi 12X. It further indicates that the Xiaomi 12X is likely to get its power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC. The second device is likely to be the Xiaomi 12X Pro. This Pro variant under the Xiaomi 12 series will feature the Qualcomm’s upcoming chipset. This Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset is likely to be Snapdragon 898.
According to popular tipster Kacper Skryzek, an upcoming Xiaomi 12 series smartphone has been spotted with the codename “Psyche”. The tipster shares the codename and phone specs via his Twitter account. He further adds that the upcoming mini phone from Xiaomi won’t make it to the Indian markets. He managed to reveal all the details from an IMEI certification website. On the IMEI certification listings, the Xiaomi phone appear with the model number 2112123AG. Moreover, the same model number also appeared on the TENAA listing as well.
New phones under Xiaomi 12 Series:
As per previous leaks, Xiaomi is planning to launch several phones under the Xiaomi 12 series. These smartphones may include the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, Xiaomi 12 Ultra, Xiaomi 12 Ultra Enhanced. Now, the Xiaomi 12X and Xiaomi 12X Pro will join the list. As per leaks, the Xiaomi 12X and Xiaomi 12X Pro are likely to be mini version of premium phone with flagship processors. These smartphones could launch with compact form factor.

Xiaomi 12X – The Mini Phone: Specs (Expected)
As for the specs, the upcoming mini-Xiaomi phone is likely to feature a 6.28-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display. The display could also get 120Hz refresh rate along with HDR 10+ compatibility. Under the hood, the Xiaomi 12X is likely to get its power from an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset. This Snapdragon 800 series chipset is a 7nm mobile platform which will come in pair with Adreno 650 GPU. The device will reportedly support 67W fast charging solution. Additionally, the compact mini phone will also get a 3.5mm audio jack.
For the optics, the Xiaomi 12X is likely to launch with 50-megapixel rear camera setup. On the other hand, considering more powerful chipset, the Pro variant could feature a more impressive camera setup. Although, these are just speculations about the upcoming mini phone. Therefore, we suggest you to take this information with a pinch of salt.
Currently, the details on the memory configuration and front camera resolution have not been revealed as of yet. Keep in mind, the Xiaomi 12X, the mini phone may not be the successor to the Mi 11X in India. However, it won’t be surprising to see the company introduce the phone as a rebranded model. The compact phone could launch under different sub-brand in the country. Several reports indicate that Xiaomi and Redmi are planning to bring several smartphones in India before the year-end.
