The rumors list about the upcoming Apple iPhone 14 models has increased. The forthcoming iPhone 14 lineup could include four new models – the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Max, and 14 Pro Max. Meanwhile, the Cupertino-based tech giant is yet to confirm the development of the new iPhone 14 series models. However, ahead of the official announcement, some leaked renders reveal the front panels of the iPhone 14 models. In this article, we will talk about the display, design, chipset, and others on the upcoming Apple iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models.
These leaked renders suggest the size difference among the upcoming iPhone models, and the renders also suggest the front-facing camera and the face ID layout. According to the leaked renders, both iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max could launch with a pill-shaped hole-punch cutout. This new layout will replace the display notch present on the previous generation iPhone models. Furthermore, the upcoming Apple iPhone 14 models are said to have a 19.5:9 aspect ratio.
Last week, tipster Saran aka @SaranByte, shared the leaked photo of the front panel of the entire iPhone 14 lineup. He tweeted this photo from Weibo, the Chinese microblogging website.
The leaked photo shows the complete front panel of the upcoming iPhone series. As per the leaked image, the Apple iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models will feature a pill-shaped hole-punch cutout. If these leaks turn out to be accurate, then the upcoming Apple iPhone models will launch with a changed design. The latest iPhone design will change from the display notch of the previous iPhone generations. This time the new display cutout will accommodate the selfie camera module and the Face ID.
As for the standard iPhone models, the leaked render suggests that the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Max could launch with the same notch design seen on the Apple iPhone 13 series models. Furthermore, the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max could feature thinner bezels with a taller build. The new iPhone models could launch with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, slightly lower than the 20:9 aspect ratio of current iPhone models.
Apple iPhone 14 series: CAD renders
Earlier, CAD (Computer-aided design) renders of upcoming iPhone 14 Pro models have surfaced online. These renders shared some glimpses at the possible design of upcoming mobile phones. The leaked render suggests that the forthcoming Apple iPhone Pro models will have slim borders compared to the current iPhone 13 series.
Furthermore, the CAD renders also showcase a pill-shaped hole-punch cutout with a more prominent display. The famous tipster Ice Universe posts these alleged CAD renders. The upcoming iPhone models stand side by side with the current generation Apple iPhone 13 Pro in these renders. The newer model features narrow bezels all around the display. Furthermore, the more recent iPhone Pro models will have the pill-shaped hole-punch cutout instead of the display notch.
The upcoming Apple iPhone 14 Pro models will have a slightly thicker body. Meanwhile, we don’t have any information about the upcoming iPhone battery. Keep in mind that these are just rendered images. There is no official confirmation about the iPhone 14 Pro leaks yet. Hence, we suggest you take this information with a pinch of salt.
Newer Chipset on Apple iPhone 14 Pro models
The launch of the newer Apple iPhone series is around September. A recent report claims that the standard iPhone 14 models will miss out on the latest A16 Bionic chip. Furthermore, the Cupertino-based tech giant will also skimp on the 48MP camera on such models. The newer A16 Bionic chip and the 48MP camera will remain exclusive to the Pro models.
This leak comes from the latest “Power On” newsletter. Here, Mark Gurman claims that Apple plans to create a significant difference between the iPhone Pro and the non-Pro models in the upcoming iPhone lineup. He adds that the 48MP wide-angle camera will remain exclusive to the forthcoming Pro iPhone models. At the same time, the standard Apple iPhone 14 models will retain the 12MP wide camera. This 12MP camera is the same camera we have seen on the iPhone 13 models.
Apple Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggested that the newer iPhone 14 models likely stick with the A15 Bionic Chip. At the same time, the Pro variants will feature the newer A16 Bionic chipset. However, the global chip shortage may alter the company’s decision. Also Read about the new iPad Mini launch
Satellite Connectivity on iPhone 14 models
Mark Gurman further claims that the Cupertino-based tech giant is currently working on bringing the Satellite Connectivity feature to its upcoming Apple iPhone 14 models. Furthermore, he believes that this feature could launch with this year’s iPhone 14 lineup. This feature was also rumored for the last year’s iPhone 13 series.
According to reports, the previous year’s Apple iPhone 13 could have included a low-earth-orbit (LEO) satellite connection capability. Meanwhile, it would have allowed users to send messages and make phone calls without any signal present. However, later last year, the iPhone models were released without Satellite Connectivity.
Keep in mind that the launch of this feature may be different in different regions due to varying regulations in the different areas of the world. Meanwhile, this feature may not be available in every part of the world.
Apple BOE partnership
Meanwhile, the Cupertino-based tech giant Apple has joined hands with the Chinese display makers BOE. Under this partnership, the OLED display manufacturer will make screens for the regular iPhone 14 models. According to reports, the contract between Apple and BOE is worth CNY 50 million. As per the contract, BOE will design 25 percent of OLED displays. FYI, these OLED displays are designated for the upcoming Apple iPhone 14 models.
Upgraded Lightning Connectors
Another report claimed that the upcoming Apple iPhone 14 Pro models would feature upgraded Lightning Connectors. These lightning connectors will support USB 3.0 speed. The team at Apple is currently working on upgrading the Lightning Connectors to USB 3.0 speed. It has been claimed that USB 3.0 can offer rates of up to 5Gbps for the iPhone 14 Pro models. The Lightning connector seen on the present iPhone models operates at USB 2.0 speed which offers 480Mbps transfer speed.
