Google Pixel 5a 5G is the latest Made by Google product. The device has been silently launched by the tech giant in the US markets. The latest Pixel phone comes with the same design as the Pixel 4a 5G. To recall, the Google Pixel 4a 5G was launched in last September. Beside the design, most of specifications of this latest Pixel device remains same. Although, Google has made some changes in the new mobile phone to make it bit cheaper.
According to official reports, the all-new Google Pixel 5a 5G comes with slightly bigger display. The device support dust and water resistance. It also gets a much larger battery as compared to its predecessor. Additionally, the Google Pixel 5a 5G retails with a bundled charger. According to reports, Google has reportedly confirmed that the upcoming Pixel 6 series will ship without any in the box charger.
Google Pixel 5a 5G: Price and Availability
The all-new Google Pixel 5a 5G price starts at USD 449 which is approximately Rs 33400 in the US markets. The tech giant is selling the sole variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage in the US market. Pixel 5a 5G comes in single colour option with Mostly Black colour. The Pixel phone is available for pre-order in the US and Japan. Google has already confirmed that Google Pixel phone will be sold in these two countries only. The smartphone will go on sale starting August 26.
To recall, Google Pixel 4a 5G price starts at USD 499 which is approximately Rs 37100. This confirms that the latest handset is USD 50 cheaper with bit of improvements. Additionally, the tech giant did not launch the Pixel 4a 5G in the Indian market.
Google Pixel 5a 5G: Specifications
The all-new Google Pixel 5a 5G supports a 6.34-inch Full HD+ OLED display. This display gets a screen refresh rate of 60Hz along with 20:9 aspect ratio. Additionally, the display gets a pixel density of 413ppi. It also gets HDR support. To recall, the display on the latest mobile is slightly bigger than its predecessor which comes with 6.2-inch display.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G powers this new Pixel phone. This chipset comes in pair with an Adreno 620 GPU. Additionally, it packs in 6GB of RAM along with 128GB of onboard storage. As for the optics, the Google Pixel 5a 5G comes with the same dual-rear camera setup. To recall, the Pixel 4a 5G gets a 12.2-megapixel primary camera sensor along with f/1.7 aperture. The secondary camera is a 16-megapixel shooter with an f/2.2 lens. The difference in the Pixel 5a 5G is that it comes with ultra-wide shooter with slightly wider field-of-view (FoV). In Pixel 4a 5G, the field-of-view (FoV) is 117 degrees. Whereas, in Pixel 5a 5G the field-of-view (FoV) is 118.7 degrees. Another major difference comes in form of laser autofocus.
In Pixel 5a 5G, the laser autofocus has been removed, which was present in Pixel 4a 5G. For selfies, the latest Pixel phone gets the same 8-megapixel selfie shooter with an f/2.0 lens. The selfie camera houses inside the hole-punch cutout which is located at the top left corner of the display. This camera still promises to offer high quality photos with its improved AI algorithms.

As for the connectivity options, the Pixel 5a 5G features a dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5, NFC, GPS, 3.5mm Headphone jack and a USB Type-C port. Regarding sensors onboard, the device includes proximity sensor, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyro meter, magnetometer, barometer etc. For security, the device also includes a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The Pixel phone packs in a 4680mAh battery along with 18W fast charging support. This battery capacity is bigger than the Pixel 4a 5G battery, which is 3885mAh capacity. Additionally, the Google Pixel 5a 5G comes with IP67 water and dust resistance. In terms of dimensions, the device measures 154.9×73.7×7.6mm and weighs 183grams.
Google Pixel 5a 5G: Final Verdict
On the other hand, Google has already made the Pixel 6 series design go official. The company has also confirmed about some of its specifications. According to reports from The Verge, Google has confirmed that the Pixel 5a 5G will be the last handset to ship with in box charger. This confirms that the Pixel 6 series will not include any in box charger. Google claims that most consumers already have a USB Type-C charging brick, hence it is not necessary to offer one within the box with the upcoming devices.
