The rumors about the upcoming iPhone 13 series has been the part of rumor mills for months. According to most recent rumor, the Apple iPhone 13 might launch with an inclusion of much smaller notch than the one we see on current generation iPhone 12 series. It is expected that the upcoming iPhone are likely to make room for the major Face ID change. Therefore, chances are that Apple might shrink the notch seemingly. According to report from DigiTimes, We might see changes in iPhone 13 design. Apple is likely to reduce the size of the VCSEL chips. The size of these chips can be reduce by 40 to 50 per cent for the upcoming iPhone lineup. Keep in mind, the same chips are used in the 3D mapping technology. This technology is used in Face ID. However, the company did not provide any official information behind this step. Although, reports suggest that with these changes company might be adding more capabilities to the Apple’s facial recognition system with the upcoming iPhone series.
Since the Cupertino Tech Major has decided to reduce the size of the Face ID chip. Hence, we can expect the decrease in size of the notch. This will corelates with previous leaks also. To recall, previous leaks suggests for the smaller notch in the upcoming iPhone 13 lineup. With the change in size of the notch, we might could expect to see the change in the position of the earpiece. According to reports, the earpiece might shift to the top bezel. Also, the speaker grille is also expected to feature on the top bezel of the display. If this report comes out true, Apple could make similar changes to its future iPad models. Therefore, future iPad models might also support Face ID feature.
