With the launch of the Samsung M53, the South Korean tech giant is expanding its Galaxy M series. The successor to the Galaxy M52 5G comes with some significant upgrades and new features. Should this Samsung Galaxy M series phone be your first choice in the sub Rs 30000 price bracket?
Unboxing
Since the Samsung Galaxy M53 is available in two colors, we like the Mystique Green color. We got the base variant of the Samsung M53 for our testing. The Samsung Galaxy M series smartphone comes in a slim box. Following the Samsung Galaxy S series trend, the company has started skipping the in-box charger.
This time the Samsung Galaxy M53 5G also comes without a charger. The Samsung Galaxy M series phone box includes documentation, a warranty card, a mobile unit, a USB Type-C to Type-C cable, and a SIM ejector tool. Also Read about the iQOO 7 BMW M Motorsport edition
Design
When we look at the phone, the Mystique Green color finish is the first thing that catches our eye. The Samsung Galaxy M53 5G looks premium in this shade, and such a premium design isn’t widespread in this price range. This premium design will help the Samsung Galaxy M series 5G phone stand out at the top. Samsung Galaxy M53 5G is a big smartphone with a more prominent display.
One-hand usage is not possible for users with small hands. Despite the 5000mAh battery, the Samsung handset does not feel that bulky. It supports up to 25W fast charging. However, the users will need to buy their Samsung 25W fast charging adapter separately. The fingerprint scanner is built into the power button on the side. It is easy to reach and convenient to use the power button on the phone.
Samsung Galaxy M53 5G comes with a flat-back design. The rear camera module is located in the upper-left corner. Looking at the camera module design, it feels like rising from the surface without any sharp edges. The LED flash sits right below the camera module. Based on my usage, the back panel can easily pick up smudges.
Display
The big 6.7-inch Full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with Infinity-O design makes this device very special. The punch-hole in the center at the top accommodates the 32MP selfie camera. With Full-HD+ resolution, the display also gets the maximum 120Hz refresh rate. The Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on display will protect against scratches and damage. This time, Samsung has managed to keep the slim bezels on all the display sides. Even though we still feel the chin is quite thick.
Performance
The all-new Samsung Galaxy M53 5G is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC. The latest Galaxy phone also gets a vapor cooling system to keep the check on the temperature. The recently launched OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G also comes with the same processor. Meanwhile, Samsung also offers a RAM Plus feature. This feature will let us allot up to 8GB of storage as the virtual RAM on the top-end variant.
Software
Samsung Galaxy M53 5G runs on the latest Android 12 OS with Samsung’s own One UI 4.1 skin. In our unit, we received the March 2022 Android security patch. Meanwhile, the Samsung’s One UI looks a bit polished and easy to use in this Galaxy phone. We quickly set up Samsung’s cloud storage service with our Samsung account, and it will also help us get backups and other ecosystem features.
Samsung Galaxy M Series smartphone comes with multiple Samsung and Google apps preinstalled, and it also gets a lot of other bloatware.
