Samsung finally launched its highly anticipated Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 mobile phones at the Galaxy Unpacked Event. Here, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 comes as the successor to the aging Galaxy Z Fold 2 and the Galaxy Z Fold. Whereas, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 will replace the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. Both Samsung folding phone comes with water-resistance. These Samsung foldable device gets IPX8 certification for water resistance. Samsung official have confirmed that both foldable phones are built with Samsung’s Armor Aluminium.
New Samsung Foldable Mobile Phone launched:
The all-new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 comes with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus screen protection. Samsung claims that this has increased the durability of its flexible displays. According to Samsung’s report, both the new models have become about 80 per cent more durable than the previous foldable models. This is also because of the redesigning of the layer structure and by the use of protective film. Additionally, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 also carries the S Pen support. This will be the first foldable phone from Samsung to make use of Stylus.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3: Price and Availability
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 price starts at USD 1799.99 which is approximately Rs 133600 in the US markets. The South Korean tech giant is offering this Z Fold 3 in three colour options. These includes Phantom Black, Phantom Green, and Phantom Silver colours. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 comes in two storage variants. The base variant comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. The other variant of Samsung foldable comes with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage.
Samsung has officially confirmed that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be available for purchase starting August 27. The Samsung foldable device will be available in select markets only. These includes the US, Europe, South Korea. Additionally, the device is already available for pre-orders in these international markets. Additionally, Pre-ordering customers will get one year of Samsung Care+ protection along with accidental cover. This accidental cover includes screen replacement, water damage, back cover replacement and much more.
Beside these regular variants, Samsung has also partnered with American fashion designer Thom Browne to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 Thom Browne Edition. The limited-edition Samsung foldable phones are also available for pre-orders in select markets. However, Samsung did not provide any price details for these limited-edition smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 runs on company’s own custom One UI on top of Android 11 operating system. The device features a 7.6-inch primary QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex Display. This display comes with a screen resolution of 2208 x 1768 pixels. It gets a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate along with 22.5:18 aspect ratio. This Samsung foldable phone comes with 374ppi pixel density.

For photos and videos, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 comes with a triple rear camera setup. The camera setup appears to be similar to what was available on the Galaxy Z Fold 2 last year. The 12-megapixel primary wide-angle camera comes with f/1.8 aperture. It supports optical image stabilisation (OIS). The secondary camera features a 12-megapixel ultra-wide shooter accompanied by a 12-megapixel telephoto lens. The telephoto lens comes with dual OIS support and can deliver up to 2x optical zoom and HDR10+ recording.
On the cover screen, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 features a 10-megapixel camera for selfies and video chatting. This camera sensor comes with f/2.2 aperture which offers an 80-degree field-of-view. The South Korean tech giant is also offering an S Pen support for the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Samsung has designed two new S-Pen models in collaboration with Wacom. These S Pen models are called the S Pen Fold Edition and the S Pen Pro Edition. The Samsung S Pen Fold Edition is exclusive to the Galaxy Z Fold 3. This Fold Edition S Pen comes with no Bluetooth connectivity option. It supports Air Command gestures and comes with a Pro tip.
The Samsung S Pen Pro model is compatible with all Samsung devices including foldable mobile phones that comes with S Pen support. Additionally, it gets Bluetooth connectivity. The S Pen Pro model works with Air Command gestures along with Air Actions. It also includes a USB socket for charging. The South Korean company is soon likely to reveal the price for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 for the India. According to previous reports, Samsung has already confirmed that both the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 will be available on Flipkart in India. These foldables will also be available on Samsung India’s official website. However, the company has not revealed any official release date for the same in India.
