With the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphones, the South Korean tech giant brought its flagship lineup for this year. Last month, the South Korea-based smartphone maker launched the all-new Galaxy S21 FE. To recall, this Galaxy S21 FE is the toned version of the Samsung Galaxy S21.

Last week, during the virtual Unpacked Event, Samsung announced three new smartphone models. These mobile phones come with the names Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. Samsung Galaxy S22, S22 Plus, S22 Ultra goes official

The all-new Samsung Galaxy S22 series brings multiple refinements and new features. Although these changes are not as drastic as the Galaxy S21 series. In terms of design and brand legacy, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra gets the drastic makeover. It adopts the design and functionality of the Galaxy Note series, which was last launched in 2020.

For Samsung Galaxy S22, the vanilla variant comes with a starting price of USD 800. The price of the Samsung Galaxy S22 is USD 100 more than the Galaxy S21 FE. To recall, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE comes with a starting price of USD 700. This makes it difficult for users to make a selection between both Galaxy smartphones. For India, the Samsung Galaxy S22 series price has been officially revealed by the South Korean tech giant. The vanilla Samsung Galaxy S22 price in India starts at Rs 72999 for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. While the Galaxy S22 Plus price in India begins at Rs 84999 for the base variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage.

Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus: Specifications

Both the Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus smartphones have a lot of the same specifications. These Galaxy phones feature a triple rear camera setup. The main camera is a 50-megapixel wide-angle lens accompanied by a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens.

As far as storage models are concerned, each Galaxy S22 Series smartphone gets a base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. In addition to this, the Samsung Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22 Plus come with NFC support. For device security, the Samsung Galaxy S22 gets an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.   • Wireless charging with PowerShare Feature

For battery backup, the Samsung Galaxy S22 packs in a 3700mAh battery along with support for 25W wired charging. While the Galaxy S22 Plus packs in a 4500mAh battery, which comes with support for 45W fast wired charging. In addition to this, both phones get an additional 15W wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare feature.

Samsung Galaxy S22, S22 Plus: First impression

market,In terms of hardware, the Samsung Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22 Plus gets Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC in the US and other markets. While, rest of the global market including India gets the Samsung Exynos chipset. The battery on both phones shrinks to some extent.

  • Dual-tone colour scheme on rear-end

Design wise, both the Samsung Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22 Plus retain a similar design to the Galaxy S21 series. However, the camera bump shifts into the side. On Samsung Galaxy S22, this dual-tone colour scheme is less flashy. The whole body of the phone is smaller by millimeters. Thus, giving it a slightly boxy-like feel. The rear side of the Samsung Galaxy S22 is made up of glass instead of plastic.

  • Brighter displays on new Galaxy phones

As for the display, the vanilla variant of Galaxy S22 gets 6.1-inch display size. Whereas, the Galaxy S22 Plus supports 6.6-inch display. During the launch event, the South Korean tech giant touts to improve the low-light performance for both photos and videos. This could be mainly due to the image processing technique. For photos, all the smartphone under the Galaxy S22 series uses a hybrid of pixel binning technique. This allows to create high resolution images with lesser image noise and better details.

  • Improvements in low-light video recording

Furthermore, this frame rate can even change while recording. Additionally, these latest Galaxy phones can also blend multiple exposures into a single video frame. Final Verdict

Based on our experience, none of the upgrade appear to be any out-of-the world innovation. The latest Samsung Galaxy S22 Series appears to be an ordinary upgrade for a yearly phone release cycle. However, on paper, the Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus smartphone appear to be respectable considering their predecessors, the S21 and the S21 Plus.
