According to official reports, the Amazon Prime membership is going to get expensive by up to 50 percent of the current subscription cost. The new plans will come into effect starting December 13, 2021. Also, note that to get the Prime membership at the old price, you have just a few days left under your hand.
What is Amazon Prime?
To recall, Amazon Prime is a premium video streaming platform that provides other lucrative services and offers on the Amazon website. These services also include one-day delivery, free delivery, free access to Amazon Music HD, early sale access, and much more.
The online video streaming platform has also revised the prices for its annual, monthly, and quarterly plans. Moreover, Amazon has also confirmed this news on its official website. Amazon Prime Membership: Revised Subscription Plans

Annual Plan
For an annual Amazon Prime subscription, the effective price will increase by Rs 500. From December 13, the annual Prime membership will be available for an effective cost of Rs 1499. To recall, the old price for the annual membership is Rs 999.
Monthly Plan
For the Amazon Prime monthly subscription plan, the effective price will hike by Rs 50. From December 13, the monthly Amazon Prime membership will be available for a price tag of Rs 179. Quarterly Plan
For a quarterly Amazon Prime membership, the effective price will increase by Rs 130. From December 13, the Quarterly Prime membership will be available for Rs 459. Currently, users can grab the Amazon Prime subscription at the old price until 2359 IST on 12 December, 2021. Starting December 13, all three revised plans will come into effect. Moreover, the details about these plans are already listed on the official Amazon website.
Amazon Prime Youth Plan gets cheaper
Unlike Amazon Prime Membership plans for regular customers, the Youth Plan will be priced much lower from now on. The Amazon Prime Membership Youth Plan is available for members between the ages of 18 and 24 years. Now, there will be a price drop in all three plans for youth members. For Youth Plan members, the new revised plans will be as follows:
Annual Youth Plan

Monthly Youth Plan
For monthly Prime Youth membership, the effective price will drop by Rs 25. The monthly Prime membership plan for youth members will be available for Rs 64. Quarterly Youth Plan
For quarterly Prime Youth membership, the effective price will drop by Rs 135. From December 13, the quarterly Amazon Prime Youth membership will be available for Rs 164. Current subscribers must note that the ongoing subscription will remain unaffected. However, once the plan validity ends, the users will need to pay for the new price. Therefore, we suggest new members opt for the new Prime plan before the revised plans come into effect. However, for Youth members, it is suggested to wait until December 13, as the price drop will come into effect for Youth Plans only.
In the official statement on this price hike, Amazon officials confirmed on their website that ““existing Prime members can continue their membership for the duration their membership plan is at the current price. - Open the Amazon website
- Log in with your Amazon account
- Click on the banner stating the offer ends December 13
- Select your plan—monthly prime, monthly Prime, or annual prime plan
- After paying through an electronic payment method, you will become an Amazon Prime member.
- Now, as a member you will be able to access the Amazon Prime content
