After Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei and Oppo, Honor is planning to launch its first ever foldable smartphone. The all-new Honor smartphone could launch with the name of Honor Magic V. The Chinese smartphone brand has officially teased about the launch of upcoming foldable phone. In the teaser image, the smartphone company, Honor reveals details about the two panels that are connected by a hinge. Although, the image does not indicate whether the hinge is a book-like hinge or clamshell like fold design. Moreover, the Honor Magic V is also likely to sport a flat edge design.

According to recent reports from a popular tipster, the Honor Magic V smartphone could launch on January 10. This report further suggests that the flagship foldable phone will be powered by the Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon chipset. Thus, making it one of the first foldable phone to launch with the latest Snapdragon processor. Recently, Honor’s parent company Huawei launched its first foldable phone in form of Huawei P50 Pocket. The Huawei foldable phone comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 4G in China.

Now, the tweet from popular tipster Teme aka @RODENT950 suggests that the Honor Magic V smartphone could launch on January 10 in China. Earlier, Digital Chat Station suggested that the Honor V foldable phone will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Tipster further suggested that the upcoming foldable phone could launch with a starting price of CNY 10000. This is approximately Rs 118000. Moreover, there is no further information available at the moment about the specifications of the upcoming smartphone.

Furthermore, Honor recently shared the teaser of the upcoming smartphone via its official Weibo handle. In this teaser, Honor CEO Zhao Ming talked about the upcoming Honor foldable phone, the Honor Magic V. He shares that the foldable phone’s screen will be the best folding display in the market. The upcoming foldable smartphone will launch with “most complete structural design”.
Moreover, the Honor executive also claims that the Honor Magic V will feature the complex hinge technology. Furthermore, the optimization will be carried out on the software level. Taking a shot on its competitor, Honor CEO adds that some of the manufacturers are offering smaller folding screen. These screens essentially violate the original intention of the folding smartphones. This suggests that the upcoming Honor Magic V is likely to adopt a dual-screen design.

In another report from GizmoChina, the Chinese smartphone brand could launch not just one but two foldable smartphones. One of the foldable smartphones appears with the codename of Honor Magic X. The report further claims that the company could first launch these smartphones in the homeland of China. The report further claims that the Chinese smartphone brand could launch its first foldable smartphone in Q1, 2022.
Honor Magic V: Specifications (Expected)
Rumours suggests that the internal display is likely to measure around 8-inch. Whereas, the external secondary display on Honor Magic V may measure 6.6-inch. Additionally, this Honor foldable smartphone could launch with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage.
