Redmi K40 to make its global appearance as Poco Phone 5G edition

Although Poco calls itself an independent brand. Its product lineup contains rebranded Xiaomi and Redmi mobile phone devices. To clarify, last year’s Poco F2 Pro is a rebranded version of the Redmi K30 Pro 5G mobile phone. Redmi K30 was again reintroduced as Poco X2, and so on. Now, it appears that the Chinese makers will use the same rebranding strategy. The Chinese company will be using the same strategy for the Xiaomi Redmi K40. According to reports, the Redmi K40 could launch globally as a rebranded Poco 5G mobile phone.

Xiaomi Redmi K40 to relaunch as Poco 5G Phone

The recently released Xiaomi Redmi K40 is reportedly going to have a global rebranding as the Poco 5G Phone. This report is released by XDA Developers. XDA Developers asserts that the Redmi K40 could launch as a new phone under Poco branding. This Poco-branded Redmi phone lists on Singapore’s device certification organisation, IDMA.

The listing showcases the Poco device with identical specs to the new Redmi K40. Additionally, the device also comes with a similar model number to that of the Redmi K40. The Xiaomi Redmi K40 comes with the model number M2012K11AC. As opposed to it, the incoming Poco Phone has the model number M2012K11AG. Here, the last alphabet C is replaced with G. According to recent leaks, the speculated Poco 5G mobile phone could make its global debut as Poco F3 or Poco F3 Pro. Thus, it confirms that Poco will once again bring a rebranded Redmi 5G mobile phone. To recall, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi recently launched the Redmi K40 series in China. In this series, out of three models, the top-end variant comes with a whopping 108-MP camera sensor.

Poco F3 Mobile Phone: Specifications (Expected)

With Poco F3, the company could re-shift its focus towards the Poco F series. The forthcoming Poco F3 could be another Redmi-branded smartphone. Chinese mobile makers intend to copy the Mi 11 series’ specs when it comes to technical details. The 6.67-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED panel, already seen on the Xiaomi Mi 11 and Redmi K40 models, could appear on the upcoming Poco F3. This display panel operates at 1080p and up to 120Hz refresh rate. The Poco F3 could use an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 CPU, like the recent Xiaomi Redmi K40. The chipset is likely to pair with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. In case you forgot, the Snapdragon 870 is a slight improvement over the Snapdragon 865 Plus.

  • Camera

For the optics, the upcoming Poco F3 could feature a triple rear camera system. An 8MP ultra-wide angle sensor will work in tandem with the main 48MP camera. Poco F3 mobile phone could pack a 4500mAh battery along with a 33W fast wired charging solution. As mentioned above, this Poco mobile is likely to launch with a 5G connectivity option. A USB Type-C port for high-speed charging and data transfer will be present on the upcoming Poco F3 phone. The vanilla variant of the Xiaomi Redmi K40 smartphone comes with a 6.67-inch FHD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) E4 AMOLED display. The device features a 120Hz refresh rate and a 360Hz touch sampling rate. As per launch details, this device comes with the world’s smallest punch-hole cutout. The device features a 2.76mm punch-hole cutout.

This Xiaomi Redmi K40 Global could launch with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 SoC. Additionally, the device comes paired with up to 12 GB of RAM. The device features a quad-rear camera setup. A 48-MP Sony IMX582 sensor, an 8-MP secondary sensor, an 8-MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 5-MP macro lens make up this back camera arrangement.

For selfies, the world’s smallest punch-hole cutout houses a 20-MP camera sensor. Additionally, the handset packs in a 4,520mAh battery with 33W fast charging. The device comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 SoC and pairs with up to 8GB of RAM. The handset features a 64-MP quad-rear camera setup. This device also supports the 5G connectivity option. The top-end K40 Pro+ features similar specifications as that of the Xiaomi Redmi K40 Pro. The major difference comes within camera specifications. The K40 Pro+ features a whopping 108-MP Samsung HM2 primary sensor. Additionally, the device comes with 12GB of on-board RAM. All three models also come with MIUI 12-based Android 11 OS.

Redmi K40 Series: Pricing

The pricing for the Redmi K40 starts at CNY 1,999, which is approximately around Rs 22,500. Whereas, for the Redmi K40 Pro, the pricing starts at CNY 2,799, which is approximately Rs. 31,500.
