Redmi K40 to make its global appearance as Poco Phone 5G edition

According to IDMA listings, It looks like as Redmi K40 will relaunch globally as Poco 5G Phone with similar specifications

Although Poco calls itself an independent brand. Its product lineup mostly contains rebranded Xiaomi and Redmi devices. To clarify, last year’s Poco F2 Pro is a rebranded version of Redmi K30 Pro 5G. Similarly, Redmi K30 was reintroduce as Poco X2 and so on. Now, it seems like the Chinese manufacturers are going to follow the same rebranding strategy with Redmi K40 for its next upcoming global variant of Poco 5G smartphone. Redmi Phone to relaunch as Poco 5G Phone

According to reports, The recently launch Redmi K40 is likely to be relaunch as global version of Poco 5G Phone. This report is release by XDA Developers. According to XDA Developers, the vanilla version of Redmi K40 is likely to land globally as an upcoming device under Poco branding. This Poco branded Redmi phone lists on Singapore’s device certification organization, IDMA.

The listing showcase the Poco device with identical specs to the new Redmi K40. Additionally, the device also comes with similar Model Number to that of Redmi K40. The Redmi K40 comes with a model number of M2012K11AC. Whereas, The upcoming Poco Phone comes with a Model Number of M2012K11AG (Here, the last alphabet C is replaced with G).

Recently leaked reports also claims that the rumored Poco Phone is likely to debut globally with the name of Poco F3 or Poco F3 Pro. Therefore, it confirms that Poco will once again bring a rebranded Redmi phone. To recall, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi recently launched Redmi K40 series in China. In this series, out of three models, the top-end variant comes with a whooping 108-MP camera sensor.

Redmi K40: Specifications

The vanilla variant of Redmi K40 smartphone comes with 6.67-inch FHD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) E4 AMOLED display. The device features a 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate. As per launch details, this device comes with world’s smallest punch-hole cutout. This smartphone comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 SoC. Additionally, The device comes paired with upto 12GB of RAM. The device features a quad-rear camera setup. This rear camera setup compromises of an 48-MP Sony IMX582 sensor, an 8-MP secondary sensor, an 8-MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5-MP tertiary sensor with a macro lens.

For selfies, The world’s smallest punch-hole cutout houses a 20-MP camera sensor. Additionally, the handset packs in a 4,520mAh battery with 33W fast charging. The device also comes with 5G connectivity support.

Redmi K40 Pro and K40 Pro+: Specifications

Redmi K40 Pro comes with a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) E4 AMOLED display. The handset supports 120Hz refresh rate. The device comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 SoC, which is paired with upto 8GB of RAM. The handset features a 64-MP quad-rear camera setup. This device also supports 5G connectivity option.

The top-end K40 Pro+ features similar specifications as that of Redmi K40 Pro. The major difference comes within camera specification. As K40 Pro+ features a whopping 108-MP Samsung HM2 primary sensor. Additionally, the device comes with 12GB of on-board RAM. All the three models comes with MIUI 12 based Android 11 OS.

Redmi K40 Series: Pricing

The pricing for Redmi K40 starts at CNY 1,999 which is approximately around Rs 22,500. Whereas, For Redmi K40 Pro, the pricing starts at CNY 2,799 which is approximately Rs. 31,500. The Top-end flagship Redmi K40 Pro+ starts at CNY 3,699  which is approximately around Rs 41,600. Also, Keep in mind, all these prices starts for the base variant of each model.
