Xiaomi shipped 7 million fitness band in India till date, Mi Band 6 launching on August 26

Xiaomi Smarter Living 2022 event is set for August 26. At this virtual event, Xiaomi will be launching the new Mi Band 6, the new Mi TV, Mi Notebook, Mi Security Camera and much more.

Xiaomi will be hosting an all-virtual Smarter Living 2022 Event on August 26. The company’s Chief Business Officer, Raghu Reddy has confirmed that the Chinese brand will be launching several new AIOT products including Mi Band 6 in India. These new AIOT products will be launching at the 2022 Smarter Living Event. Xiaomi has already confirmed that the Smarter Living Event will be taking place on August 26. It will be all-virtual launch event. All this is considering the current COVID-19 pandemic situation in the country.



Xiaomi Smart Living 2022 Event:

At this launch event, the Chinese tech company will be launching a variety of products. These products will be across all categories including fitness, entertainment, security, productivity and other segments. Meanwhile, Xiaomi has already teased about the launch of the new Mi Notebook in India. The all-new Mi Notebook will launch with backlit keyboard. This latest Mi Notebook model will be launching at the smarter living event 2022. The Xiaomi’s Chief Business officer also hinted at the launch of the Mi Band 6 in the country. To recall, the Mi Band 6 will be succeeding the existing Mi Band 5. The upcoming Xiaomi Mi Band 6 will surely be the superstar of the event.

Mi Band 6 launching in India:

Xiaomi Mi Band 6 is already available in its homeland China. The Chinese brand launched the smart band several months ago in China. Now, this fitness band will be launching in India later this month. However, Reddy did not reveal whether the Chinese variant of this Xiaomi Mi Band will be launching in India or any other variant. Some report suggests that the Chinese tech giant could redesign this fitness band for Indian markets.



Xiaomi Mi Smart Band: Market Stats

To recall, Xiaomi has started its journey in AIOT market in India back in 2015. In the year 2015, Xiaomi started in India with the launch of first generation of Mi Band 1. Xiaomi first created the fitness wearable category in India before launching the first fitness band back in 2015. He added that back then there were only few companies that offers fitness band. But Xiaomi is the king player in the mainstream market since the beginning.

While explaining the success of Mi Band in India. Reddy said that back in 2019, the overall fitness band market holds the account of 5 million units per year. Out of these 5 million units, Xiaomi contributes to about 40-50 percent of the market share. With the launch of each new product under fitness band segment every now and then. Mi band still have been the best seller in the Indian market. He further added that Since 2017, Mi fitness bands have been the Number one fitness wearable in the country. Till date, Xiaomi India have shipped over 7 million Xiaomi Band in the country.

Other Xiaomi AIOT Products:

Beside the Mi Band 6, Xiaomi will be launching a wide range of products under the new AIOT segment. The Chief Business Officer confirms that the company will be launching a new Mi TV model, a new Mi Security camera. The company will also launch a new Mi Air Purifier, a new Mi Notebook and various other products. These products will be launching later this month on August 26.




Meanwhile, Xiaomi is one of the world’s most popular AIOT platforms. With over 350 million connected smart devices sold till date, Xiaomi top the charts. However, this does not include the primary category devices such as smartphones or laptops. Keep in mind, these connected devices include those gadgets that can be operated in some way by the smartphones.
