  • Audio Experience on iQOO Mobile Phone

As for the sound experience, iQOO 9T 5G offers much better sound quality if compared to any other iQOO smartphone. While listening to music on the iQOO 9T 5G, we noticed a slight bass and depth with clear vocals. We can listen to every single beat at loud volumes without any distortion. Overall, the music experience was excellent.

iQOO 9T 5G Phone: Display

The newly launched iQOO 9T 5G sports a 6.78-inch E5 OLED display panel with a Full-HD+ resolution. This display offers a screen resolution of 1080*2400 pixels. Overall, the display is decent enough and offers vibrant and good color reproduction. The contrast levels are vivid. While watching videos on Netflix, the picture quality looks sharp. Moreover, Netflix also offers support for HDR10+. The refresh rate is variable; it often falls to 60Hz on most apps, even when set to 120Hz. Also Read – New upcoming OnePlus Future Phones

The display experience on the iQOO 9T 5G is smooth. Furthermore, we can choose specific apps that can switch to 120Hz. iQOO 9T 5G Phone: Performance

Under the hood, iQOO 9T, the iQOO 9 series 5G smartphone is powered by the latest flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. This chipset pairs with an Adreno 730 GPU. The latest iQOO 9T 5G comes with a successor processor. Remember, the iQOO 9 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC in India. Furthermore, there is a Vivo in-house V1+ imaging chipset. It also helps to upscale content from 60Hz to 120Hz.

  • Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1: What’s New?

The flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC is fabricated on a 4nm fabrication process by TSMC. This has helped majorly in performance improvement. It makes the flagship smartphone smoother and faster, and the chipset also helps with heat management. The flagship Snapdragon processor also offers excellent performance with other smartphones, such as the OnePlus 10 Pro and the Vivo X80 Series.

With a flagship Snapdragon processor, the device handles everything with ease. We did not notice even a single lag. App switching was also smooth with decent RAM management. Thermals were very much under control, even with graphic-intensive games like BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile. For heat dissipation, the latest iQOO 9T 5G gets a vapor chamber of 3930 sq mm with liquid cooling.

iQOO 9T 5G also gets an “in-display dual monster touch.” It means that the device has a pressure-sensitive display with triggering points on the left and right sides of the phone. This feature is beneficial while playing games. The newly launched iQOO 9T 5G smartphone supports 9 5G bands alongside the support for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, USB-C, and NFC. We did not have any issues with the connectivity performance on both Mobile Data and Wi-Fi.

iQOO 9T 5G Phone: Battery backup

The battery life is one of the most vital aspects of the iQOO 9T smartphone. The latest iQOO mobile phone packs in a 4700mAh battery along with a 120W charging solution. The same 4700mAh battery is also present on the iQOO 9 Pro. The 120W Flash Charge fast charger comes inside the retail box. In terms of charging experience, we managed to charge our iQOO 9T unit from 0 to 100 percent in mere 22 minutes.

  • Charging Time

The iQOO 9T manages the temperature with its vapor cooling technology during charging. We tested that the iQOO 9T did get warm during the charging process. But the temperature never got passed 41 degrees. However, after the 50 percent charging, the temperature instantly starts dropping constantly.

  • Battery Life

In terms of battery backup, the smartphone runs perfectly fine for one day with even slight heavy usage. In this test, we used navigation apps, forced the handset to run on a 120Hz refresh rate, and Mobile data was always on. We also did heavy gaming for a couple of hours and even YouTube viewing. With all these tasks, we got 5.5 hours of screen-on-time.

With moderate gaming, chatting, discord calling, and browsing social media apps, we got a screen-on-time of around 6 hours. However, with normal usage, the screen-on-time can easily pass 6 hours. A similar kind of battery backup is seen on the iQOO 9 Pro. Now, let’s take a look at the camera performance of the iQOO 9T 5G phone.

iQOO 9T 5G Phone: Camera

The newly launched iQOO 9T includes a 50MP ISOCELL GN5 primary sensor. The primary camera comes with optical image stabilization (OIS) support. Further, the secondary camera is a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens accompanied by a 12MP portrait lens. There is a 16MP front camera housing inside the punch hole for selfies and video calls. Besides this configuration, the camera also gets multiple features.

  • Camera app

The camera app on the iQOO 9T is simple to use. The camera app also features an advanced mode inside the “More” section. The photo, video, portrait, and night modes sit on the front seat. Moreover, the camera app also gets camera-centric features like SuperNight mode, Portrait mode, Panorama etc. Talking about the photo quality, the shots taken in broad daylight come out well. The cameras have a solid dynamic range, and the photos have much detail. The images are vibrant with realistic colors, and the sensor is enough for taking amazing shots.

  • Daylight Quality

The same can be said for portrait photos, which boast vibrant colors, sharp edge detection, and a nice bokeh effect. When it comes to wide-angle photographs, the detailing doesn’t suffer significantly, although it does get a little fuzzy around the edges. Furthermore, wide-angle photos have a significant color shift compared to normal ones. The wide-angle images have a cooler tone, while the regular ones have a warmer tone and are more like the actual scene.

  • Low-Light Quality

Shots shot in low lighting are also surprisingly good. On comparison with iQOO 9 Pro, the low-light photography on iQOO 9T 5G is much better. The shot has a decent level of clarity and details. Even the detection of edges is precise. However, the shutter speed suffers in low lighting, so remain steady in front of the subject for a second. In artificial lighting, the colors appear somewhat wrong, but the camera never compromises on clarity.

  • Front Camera Quality

Selfies taken with the front camera are likewise incredibly crisp. The skin tone may blow out when the sunlight hits you from a specific angle, but these selfies have enough details and colors for you to share on social media without any editing. The night photos turned out to be excellent. Photos taken in night mode are crisper and have somewhat more brightness than typical. We didn’t see much difference between images taken with and without night mode.

iQOO 9T 5G: Other mobile phone features

Like the recently launched phones from iQOO, the iQOO 9T also runs on the FunTouch OS. The software comes with enough customization options. Although, the UI needs many improvements. We experienced that some of the elements overlap. Furthermore, some of the icons are not correctly sized.

iQOO 9T 5G phone runs on the FunTouch OS latest version on top of Android 12, joins iQOO 9 mobile and the iQOO 9 Pro in India
iQOO 9T 5G phone runs on the FunTouch OS latest version on top of Android 12
  • Software Issues

Like the iQOO 9 and the iQOO 9 Pro India, this flagship smartphone also gets much bloatware such as “Hot games,” “Hot apps,” “Byjus,” and many others. Luckily, we can uninstall these apps to save some space on our handset. Furthermore, we also noticed that the Google Maps app crashed many times.

iQOO is promising to offer three major software updates on the newly launched iQOO 9T 5G phone. Currently, the handset is running on the July security patch. We think that iQOO is working hard to resolve the issue with the next update release.

Overall, the operating system does not feel that well optimized for a flagship-grade smartphone. A device like in 9T 5G deserves much better software support. The latest iQOO handset will also receive four years of bimonthly security patches.

Final Verdict

The all-new iQOO 9T 5G is a decent flagship smartphone but nothing extraordinary. The battery life and fast charging are the main highlights of this flagship-level smartphone. The camera is also decent. Build quality is excellent and will attract the youth. Although, the FunTouch OS experience might take away all the pleasure with this phone. If you want something extraordinary from a smartphone, we might suggest you go for some other options in the market. The latest iQOO 9 series 5G Phone will stand against the likes of Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, Motorola Edge 30 Pro, and the Oppo Reno 8 Pro.
