With the launch of the Vivo X80 Pro, the Chinese smartphone brand, Vivo could go head-to-head against the two biggest smartphone manufacturers, Samsung and Apple. The latest Vivo X80 Pro mobile phone is the spiritual successor of the last year’s flagship Vivo X70 Pro+.

Vivo X80: Design

As for the design, the design of the Vivo X80 Pro mobile looks very familiar to the Vivo X70 Pro+ design. The new flagship handset is available in single Cosmic Black color in India, and this color variant has a slight sparkle reflection when exposed to bright light. Looking from the far, the back of the Vivo X80 Pro appears matte black.

The Vivo X80 Pro back panel comes with Fluorite AG Glass. Furthermore, it also gets the Schott Xensation Up scratch protective glass protection on the front display. The display is curved on the sides, which meets the aluminum-alloy frame on the edges. Overall, the matte finishing on the back panel is excellent and rejects fingerprints and smudges.

However, with such a design, the Vivo X80 Pro mobile feels a bit slippery in hand. Thankfully, the Chinese smartphone brand also offers a premium faux-leather case inside the box. This case will provide an extensively good grip and a premium in-hand feel. Also Read: Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 launches in India, price starts above 1 lakh

The camera bump is good enough that it does not cause much wobbling. The camera module takes the entire width of the back panel. This module’s primary, ultra-wide, and telephoto lens sits inside the circular ring. At the same time, the periscopic telephoto lens is placed just outside the ring.

The Vivo X80 Pro mobile still looks unique and exciting, even with the recycled design. The smartphone offers a premium in-hand feel when compared to its competitors.

However, the photos clicked in low light appear to be a little murky. With active Night Mode, the camera sensor can click photos with enough details and dynamic range.

Vivo X80 Pro mobile: Final Verdict

The all-new X80 Pro does not offer massive upgrades over the Vivo X70 Pro+. The flagship Vivo X70 Pro+ is one of the best smartphones of last year. As per our experience, upgrading to Vivo X80 Pro from X70 Pro+ won’t be a good option.

For a new buyer, the Vivo X70 Pro+ under X70 Series is an excellent option to go for. Overall, the X80 Pro is a good premium smartphone for 2022. The key highlights for the X80 Pro include the latest processor, new display technology, and a unique set of camera hardware. With these features and hardware, new smartphone can over take Vivo X70 Series.

The latest Vivo X80 Pro mobile will give tough competition to the Samsung Galaxy S22+, Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, and the OnePlus 10 Pro. However, if you are on a tight budget, we will suggest you go for the OnePlus 10 Pro, which is also a good option as it offers an impressive set of hardware and cameras for the price.
